Real world V1 testing performed by me

To go along with the 8500 thread...

I also had a stationary radar setup on my block. It was a K unit.

It was facing west.

First test
Came from the east (so I was going towards it, but it was aimed the same direction I was going) Picked it up at .4 miles

As I passed, now it was behind me. The V1 rear sensor picked it up for 1.2 miles!

Second test.
Came from the west (so I was going towards the radar unit & it was in aimed in front of me)

Picked it up at 1.7 miles!

As I passed it the rear sensor got only about .2 miles (it was now behind me, & facing the other direction)

Road was straight, There was a underpass about .5 miles from the radar unit. Unit was in the middle of the road on a 4 lane road.

I have my V1 mounted just under the rear view mirror with a clear shot of the road in front, & in back. I also have 15% window tint.

Testing was done at 3pm Saturday, sunny weather.

Also here's a story of why the V1's arrows are so important. Friday, there was also a KA radar unit setup 1 mile down from the K unit. The V1 was able to detect both of them, with there relitive signal strength, & the arrows told me they were in front of me, or the K was behind, & the KA was in front, or the KA was behind, & the K was in front. It is such a great tool! You guys that balk at them need to experience them. I used to have an 8500. I'm not bashing the 8500, there's nothing wrong with the 8500, it's just missing a great feature.

Also, the KA unit was gone so I couldn't really test it, but It was facing the west, I was coming east, so it was in front of me, & the V1 picked it up at 1.8 miles. All the while also picking up the K unit.

What does all this mean, you guys decide. This is just real world experience from regular people.

Had my first experience with instant-on radar. I was not speeding, otherwise I would have a ticket. From now on, I will pay more attention to the small blips.

An FX35's HIDs behind me were setting of my V1 laser warning. Has this happened to anyone else?

I’ve been “real world testing” the V1 since I bought my first one when it was introduced back in 1992.

I call these cars my laser testers,,, I had a cop nail the guy in front of me with a laser,,, my alarm went off,, they must hold the trigger down to long, seems those lazer guns can spray just like the radar microwaves ???
