Is it real leather or NOT!

My acura dealership says the entire CL 2003 seat is not a real leather but it is sold as such. IS THIS SEAT LEATHER?
Is the person at Acura incorrect.

I just want to find the correct product to clean and protect my seats from cracking. Anyone have any thoughts?

Leather conditioner and cleaner is the way to go. Wipe it down with the cleaner, then massage the conditioner in with your hands and wipe with a clean cloth.

Only the middle section where the seat is perforated is it leather. The sides, back and bottom portion are vinyl. No reason to make an entire leather seat, just a waste of money.

This is why the brochures say "leather seating surfaces" or where ever your butt, back or head touch is leather the rest is vinyl.

Bolsters are, but the area around the bottom of the seat, i think the backs of the front seats and the top part of the rear seats are vinyl. I had to have some apoulstery work done and I had the bottom part replaced with some old Legend black leather he had laying around. Really can't tell the difference between the vinyl and leather in those areas. I just use leather conditioner on it all and it seems to be fine.

99% percent of all leather seats are not "real" leather... Its more cost effective and realistic for mfg to just use "fake" leather, and by that I mean vinyl, imitation leather, or some other sort of material that mimics leather... If you want to see what "real" leather looks like in a car, go sit in a King Ranch F-150... It's hard to believe, but trust me... No cars on the road have real leather.

My old SHO had very nice full real leather. Much better seats when the CL including adjustable side bolsters. I wish we had seats like that. Heck even my old winter beater, a '90 Bonneville SSE, had full leather with 24 way adjustable seats (everything adjusted including 3 different spots in the middle of your back and 2 different headrest adjustments). I was a bit surprised at the CL's lack of seat adjustments when I first got it and especially the further lack of settings for the passenger. There are a lot of things they did to cut corners on these cars.

ya my dads KR f150 is really nice on the inside, but it is a BITCH to maintain. the seating surfaces scratch and marr up if you look at them wrong.
