Re: Replacement Cabin Filter
Trust me...I tried to search Azine and looked through my Helms Manual.
Keep getting this error message.
Search results provided by: ibSearch from Internet Brands
siteId is missing or invalid
Anyways...
Looking at this replacement charcoal cabin filter.
EBAY LINK
1) Anybody know about this?
2) Where is that filter located?
3) Anybody replaced theirs?
4) Did it do anything?
I'm sure considering the year of my CL it wouldn't hurt to replace the cabin filter.
Thanks,
Noah

Those are for the AC cabin air filter behind the glovebox. They filter the air that comes into the cabin (what you breathe). I changed mine in the summer and they were the originals and filthy, full of leaves and debris. You can tell if they are the originals because you have to break these plastic tabs to get to them only once though. The whole install took me about 20 min. You just need a screwdriver and a sharp knife. Here is a diy with pics from our wonderful info thread.

Ohh yeah that price looks good, mine were like 20 for 2, you need 2. Ohh and CL and TL are same part #. The new ones got rid of a funk that I got from running the AC. Have fun

Thats a good price for charcoal filters noah. I bought some bosch filters from autozone for about that much. The charcoal ones will eliminate the odor better hence the added cost. I would get these noah and if you need help changing them, I can meet you some where if the SF guys wont help out.
btw, these should be replaced every few years depending where you drive. its supposed to be part of the 30k service so if your doing yours for the first time then i'd do it asap lol

Yeah...the SF peeps are no where to be found.
Not a very social croud...?
I would love to swap these out and get the charcoal filters in there to see if it makes an improvement.
Maybe...I can mob up there to Concord and swap mine out the same time as you Garkon since Sac town is so far.
BTW...what did happen with that video.

Great link man, thanks
I've got 75K and im about to drive from Colorado to Tennesee, then to Glynco, GA for 3 months of training, then back to Colorado, and finally back to Tennesee. Be nice to get some fresh air! I doubt they have been changed. I got the car with 58K.
I think I'll go with the charcoal also.

I don't know how many of us Bay Area folks there are, but I'm usually up to help or learn (usually learn). I just ordered the filters, so thanks for the find! Also, I live in Alamo (next to Walnut Creek) so if you do this in Concord, maybe I could join.
Thanks again for the link!

We should def. plan something.
Maybe we could do that and plan a small photo shoot up there.
I went on a shoot with Garkon and it was a good time out there.
If I can get my damn coilovers installed before then my car might be picture worthy.

Well...we swapped the cabin filter thanks to the help of aznboi2424
Thanks again for the Azine support.
This mod is cheap and easy enough to do that everybody should do this.
I'm going to make it a habit to change mine once a year.
Use carbon over the regular one for the added benefit of filtering odor.
Another member took some pics of the before and after filter.
Mine even had leaves in it....?
