Rattling in my CL

I purchased a new CL Type S in January and have noticed a few rattling noises coming from the glove compartment and sun roof areas. Is this a common problem? Is there any way to fix it?

Also, I am interested in the speed enhancement chip. Which is the best chip and is it worth it?

Thanks.

Take your car to the dealer and mention the sunroof rattle and they will fix it.

The glovebox rattle hasn't been pin pointed yet. If you can find out what is making the noise, let us know.

Welcome to the board!!!

Two things:
1) Check out the FAQ link in my sig.

2) I would recommend to do a search on this site for any info you are looking for. There is a good chance it has been discussed before.

Be careful about that "They will fix it" stuff. That seems to vary between dealers. I had a hard time getting my dealer to fix the sun/moon roof rattle, but they finally did. It was a hassle going back and forth and then finally taking a mechanic for a ride to prove the rattle existed. They claimed there was not a TSB for a sun/moon roof rattle.

The sunroof rattle is fixed by the dealer w/ teflon tape around the seals. The glove box is a new one to me.
There is a controversy going on about the chip from JET. The performance gains are being questioned. Do a search.

the rattling in the glove box might be the fuse box by the passenger side door...to the right of the glove box. i have not had this problem but i think i recall someone mentioning it before. the sunroof rattle needs to be taken to the dealer for the "fix".

Welcome Welcome!!!! dealer should take care of that sunroof rattle for you no problem. 10 minutes. After that then have them look for rattle in the glovebox. It may after all be the passenger seat. Try adjusting the angle.

I have a rattle coming from that vent right in the center of the dash; the one you can't move. If I stick my finger in it, it quits. Can't go driving around with my finger stuck in the vent all the time though.

So no one has a fix for the glove box rattle? I am sure it is my glove box door that is causing the rattle because if I am driving down the highway and it is rattling away all I have to do is pop open the glove box door and the rattle stops. I tried putting those little clear plastic stick-on "bumpers" to stop the door from bumping against the enclosure but it didn't work. I had a hard time figuring out where the door actually contacts the enclosure when closed. Was anyone able to fix this rattle with the little bumpers? If so where did you stick em. Right now I have two of the on the dash part of the glove box on either side of the metal latch... this isn't doing the trick.

My dealer Sunnyside Acura fixed all rattles including the glove box when I did the 15k miles service. Cost $159. No more rattles!
