random 6speed CEL?
random 6speed CEL?
It is raining here now and I was coming down an empty road with not a car in sight, I had Tokico adjustables and my H&R springs installed yesterday. I was going into second and once engaged I decided to floor it to see what kind of wet traction I am getting with the new suspension. At about 4000rpm the tires broke loose and I started to modulate the throttle. At about 5500rpm with tires just above the limit of adhesion and moderate wheel hop, the CEL started to blink. I went back to normal slow driving and after about ten blinks, once a second, it went away and car still drives fine. Anyone know what gives? Jim
I get this all the time to when i ass off in the rain. If it happens more then three times in a row the light will stay on remain on for three driving cycles without the wheel hop. I think it is a misfirecode from all the engine jarring around, either way nothing serious but sorta like a warning!
Jim, I've gotten those before when ever I wheelhop really bad...

It's just a random misfire code...
Completely normal and nothing to really worry about, launching like that on a consistant basis probably isn't a good idea

Normal. It happens. It's actually not a problem at all. The ECU see the excessive wheel hop & loss of traction as a misfire & throws a temp code. I've been able to do it in all 3 CL's I had.
My mechanic has this $8000 diagnostic tool. He plugged it into my car and checked everything. No codes. All clean. He told me during wheel hop the block experiences vibrations similar to knock which trigger the knock sensor. Thanks for the input guys.
