Ran at the track yesterday!!!

I have an 03' 6 spd, my mods are AEM cold air, comptech headers, gutted catilitic converter, greddy evo2 catback exhaust, nitrous express 50 hp shot. My first run at the track was a 13.75 @ 105.47 My second run was a 13.71@105.87... I guess thats pretty good but I was hoping for a 13.5.... My 60ft times were a 2.2 and a 2.1.... I turn the nitrous on in second gear at 5,000 rpms I think that next time I run at the track I am going to turn it on at 4,500rpms in first gear. Any comments or sugestions i would appreciate thanks..!!!!

I would think you'll break the tires loose in 1st if you start squeezing at 4500rpm. Can you bring it on earlier in second?

Thanks hopefully next time I run at the track I might be able to squeeze a 13.6. The sound of the greddys to me is great until 5,000rpm's after that it sounds like pots and pans from an idle. When I am full out racing the sound is not that noticable at all. I live in Maryland and I raced yesterday at Budds Creek. If I turn the nitrous on at 5,000 rpm's in second gear on the street it spins like crazy, But if when i turn it on at the track in second it did not spin at all. I think I might be able to actually turn it on at like 5,000rpm's in first hopefully. I am thinking about on thursday switching it from a 50hp shot to a 60hp shot..?.?.? What are you guys opinion on running a 60 shot? Anyone in Maryland that wants to meet up at either capitol or budds creek just e-mail me at mdavid1122@yahoo.com

He's a 6MT so gearbox should be fine. Allmotor was at 419whp with a stock clutch/flywheel and it held fine.

Try a 75 shot and see how it goes. Should be fine.

I appreciate you guys comments and helping me i just have one more question. I have the original spark plaugs in and I now have 54,000 miles on them and I was wondering if I should put a better spark plug in and also should I mess with the fuel or turn the timing back like 2 degrees? What all should i have with the nitrous set up to make sure that it is the safest it can be....? Thanks for all the help any advice will help

run a 75 shot.

your traps are right around what i used to trap w/ my 75 shot auto. the auto was easier to launch though, and i would spray in 1st. which is why i was able to run a 13.25.

you should be running a colder heat range plug. i think it would be the same plugs that the supercharged guys use.

you should be fine w/ timing and fuel running a 75 shot. as long as your nitrous system is working properly.

upgrading to a walbro fuel pump wouldn't hurt though.

You can do a 100-shot, just make sure the fuel-jet is adequate and use 100+ octane gasoline.

The clutch should hold fine on normal tires. Don't squeeze in first... it will slow you down. 105.x mph on a 6pd means about 290whp which is about right. While your E.T might not increase with more nitrous, your MPH will as you generate more horsepower. The 6spd is not forgiving when it comes to traction!

Happy squeezin'!
