Ran a Civic Si (2003)
Just entering the freeway this morning... this Civic Si (Stock I preseme) was beside me. I wasn't even thinking of racing as my car is running like crap right now (during its transition). He peels off and takes off. I can't let anyone do that to me... so I take off after him. He probably had a 1-2 car head start by the time I started. By the time I was into 2nd... I was even and pulling VERY hard...just about to shift to 3rd and we hit traffic. He was quite embarrassed
I would just buy a '92-'95 civic and dump a few grand into a new motor (even a K20A swap) and run 12's... instead of buying that $20K car.

Was it the new "hatchback" Si or the coupe version from a few years ago? Seems like the new hatchback is the slower of the "rocket hatches" when they did a comparo in one of the car mags. I think that Honda is counting on the aftermarket mods.
I think the "Si" means more to the people that remember the old Prelude Si and CRX Si than it does to a lot of the new gen that are guying Civics now.
In any case, in the Si stock form, it won't run a CL-S. Nice kill.

Yeah I test drove one, and it had no "GO" in it's stock form.. but I do like the shifter location though..
btw, allmotor, your last statement about the K20 motor.. Are you sure it will fit? Plus, I always thought that they are not Transverses(?) Engines like the B series?

Haven't heard a K20A in a ek hatchback civic yet...
As far as I know, everything is backwards on the K series engine, unlike the D16, B16, B18 and H22 engines, the K20A's exaust manifold comes out from the back of the motor.
Whoever can swap a K20A in a eg or ek Civic gets mad props from me.

I know of 5 cars with the swap already... including one 2003 Civic Si HB. Most of the others are like 1998 or 1998 Civic HB's. Yes the motor rotates the other way... doesn't matter really!
Two of these cars have the K20 (Type-R) motors.... they are hilariously fast.
One belongs to Shawn Hillier (he holds the record for the 2nd quickest allmotor FWD car in the world... drives for Jeremy). The other belongs to Charles Madris (Sir Charles) as most people know him. I have been in Charles' car...it makes 198 to the wheels STOCK!

Impressive... must have done alot of cutting in the engine bay for the EK civics. I guess if they can put the s2k's F20B in a 2001 civic, pretty much anything is possible. Mad props given to these people.
