Radar Detector Test - V1 sweeps again

Others get close but still V1 is far ahead with 97 out of a possible 100 points with the second contender scoring 73 (Escort Passport 8500). This kinda reminds me of the BMW comparison (always coming first).

Credit card debit aside...

It's worth the money IMHO... No radar dectector will make you invincible, but it certainly makes me feel better when driving with the V1.

detector is well worth it, i wish i would of bought one right when i got the cl 4 months ago, a v1 would cost 400 if i get one, on 2 tickets i have spent over 700 in lawyer fees and fines leaving me no money to mod my car

I thought about testing out the new Solo 2 to see if those guys have figured out how to beat the V1 in sensitivity and range while keeping the false alerts low. Just for comparison purposes I would like to see if my V1 has excessive false alerts. I was all set to order this detector and if it was lousy I could return it in January or if it was pretty good, I could keep it as a backup or use it in rental cars. Then I quickly realized that hey this thing doesn't have directional arrows. Forget it!

Wow. Glad to see that this thread did not end up in a flaming and bashing type of thread. The V1 subject has been very sensitive for some people.

dunno why they put it in the league of those radar detectors, i wouldnt expect a $100 radar detector to match up to one thats $300 or more

Car&Driver takes loads of ad $ from Valentine and C&D's chief editor Patrick Bedard is supposed to be on Valentines payroll as a 'consultant'.

Test your radars from real world experience. Don't rely on magazines.

Car & Driver has Ad’s for ALL the major brands of detectors.
I don’t know about the Patrick Bedard comment, but a lot of the magazine guys are consultants for MANY manufacturers of cars and other products.
