Radar in Connecticut WHAT?!

K, maybe you guys from up north can help me out. When I was on my ski trip to Maine last weekend, we had to drive through Connecticut on I95. Besides making my car white with road salt and grime, My Valentine One would go off every 100 yards or so the entire way down the interstate! But only in Connecticut! It would register X band, sometimes K, the signal would always be very strong (like point and click radar) and start at the front and go around the car. Sometimes the bogey counter would read 1 and sometimes it would read 2.

My question is, what is going on with Radar in Connecticut!?

Anyhelp...would be fantastic..and if anyone would like to make a little extra money for a header fund...i'll pay you 10 bucks to wash my car

Thanks Guys!

Probably fake Radar emitters that the state puts up to slow detector owners down.
Pennsylvania is big on this too.
They have them mounted on road signs, bridge overpasses & even those mobile message displays.

Another good reason to have the “bogey counter” of the V1 so you know to slow down if you see a “2” on the readout.

It's X band traffic sensors placed from Greenwich to Branford on I95. They're used to monitor traffic speed overall. If traffic drops below a setting, the camera in that area activates and allows the DOT to see why it's slowing. If there's an accident, they can more efficiently notify police and rescue.

It's also used in the Hartford area. Laser is what you need to worry about on 95 but look for K band too.

That's a good idea for the DOT of Conn that's for sure...

How does your Laser Pro Laser Jammer work for you? Connecticut did have a wicked speed trap set up with radar, and luckily I was riding next to a truck that got hit before I did so I had a second or two to slow down.

Do you like the jammer?

The jammer is awesome, worth every penny. It's really paying off locally more than on the highway lately. Right before I sold my CL I was doing 70 in a 45, big, wide, beautiful road that no goes 45. Anyway, blacked out local cop nails me way before I could even see him. The jammer lights up like a Xmas tree but the V1 stays quiet (hmm, might be time to upgrade, it's been 3 years). I slow down to 50, kill the jammer so he can read my speed and roll right by bubuye!!

Tho, the Staties were running a trap right on the highway in front of my work.

Unmarked Impala would sit parallel to the highway. He would crack his door open just a little and lean over w/ the laser and shot back at approaching cars, get their speed and radio to the two other cops waiting down the road. Pretty tricky picking up those Impalas. I'm condition for CrownVics and full size Explorers... sigh.

Most radar transmitters are on posts, near cameras on the side of the highway. They're square, gray boxes. Some are mounted on overpasses too. They all don't transmit and some only transmit part time. It's really annoying but if you're using a V1, don't disable X band cuz it's still used in CT.

Back in the day I had an Escort detector. I had to turn it to City mode when driving on I95 in CT. Cops there usually use K-band, but I have seen Laser more and more recently.

The good thing is that in CT, the Troopers are required by law to keep their lights on, (dim blue and red on their light bar) so if you keep looking at night, you can usually spot one before you get nailed

Are you sure about that??? Then those fuckers along 91 have been breaking that law!!! Threr's a sreatch on 91, I think after the RT 15 merge, with a large grass divide and a turn-around the cops sit in. More than once I've been hit from them sitting there completely backed out at night!! !!Bastards!! I'll have to check on this one.

oooooo...if you can get those dirty cops...GET EM!

There's a law in delaware where if the cop pulls you over for speeding when he was pacing you, if he was speeding too, he had to have his lights on while he was speeding

I've had some friends get out of "pacing" tickets because the officer didn't have his lights on when he was speeding!

CRAZY!
