3rd Gear is hard to find
Yes I raced My CL-s 6 speed 3 times and Basically I have a 14 sec car but I'm a 15 sec Driver. My first run was a 14.7. It was my first time on the track and I was nervous. Staged the rear tires. The second run I dumped the car back in first trying to find third. My third run I did the Opposite putting it in 5 instead of third, that was the 15.2. The car was bone stock w/ 2000 miles. And to the Maximas and Altimas running 14.3 stock. Sure down hill on slicks with the cabin gutted.

As soon as you drive in, go to tech inspection all the way down on the left side of the parking lot. They won't look hard at your car unless they see or hear something that makes them think it is a sub 12 second car. Everyone needs to be wearing a DOT helmet during the actual run. sub 12 second passes require at least a 6 pt bar, sub 10 second require a 12 pt cage and a firesuit. If you're on radials, do NOT pull into the water box to do a burnout. Pull to the outside, rip the ebrake, and dump the clutch. You always get props from the stands if you do a massive burnout regardless of your ET. Plus, it helps to ease the tension. When you stage, light the first yellow. I like to wait for the other driver to light both yellows before I do. Rev to your desired lauch point, and launch on the third light.
Don't be concerned with your reaction time. Just don't leave too early, or you won't get an ET to register and waste your run. Concentrate on launching. There's no way you should miss gears. You're only shifting 3 times. If anyone at Etown needs a ringer driver, point up towards the Newark brothers betting on every run at the bottom of the grandstands and I'll meet you by the staging lanes. I'd be more than happy to pilot a 6 speed into the 13's
