Raced a Z-28 tonight

Well, just going to work tonight, and this Z-28 comes up next to me (Didnt see what the headlights looked like, so It was between a 93 and an 02) and has some loud ass, deep sounding exhaust, and starts acting like he wants to race. So we both slow down. I try to put my car into 1st, but speed is too high and only stays in 2nd. We hit it and he kills me. Well I catch up to him and slow down. He looks at me like I'm crazy(Probly thought I would do a ricer flyby). This time I get it into 1st and we go from about 30 to 70 and by 70, I am at his bumper. Not too bad I guess. I pull up next to him again and he nods his head. Probly thought he would kill me. But a fun race, had my heart pumping pretty good.

Nice death. The Z28 with the LS1 engine is very fast. I raced a WS6 from a stop one night and he spun hard, I had the lead until 35-40 then he blew by me like I was standing still. Those cars are sick! Don't even think about trying one from a slow roll either because once they get into 3rd they're gone!!!!!

Close race if both are stock. But with light mods a WS6 will own a M3.

Some people on LS1.com claim to have a few 01 and 02's running 12.9 bone stock. Supposedly the 01 and 02's are a bit faster. My friend has an 00 A4, runs a 13.7 stock. Su I drove it last week and actually got to race some guy in a black TlS on the parkway coming out of a toll booth. I have to say it wan't much of a race. I put like 4 car lengths on the tls up to about 70. I felt kind of bad beating up on a family member like that! All I can say is those cars are so fun to drive. The torque is tremendous at any RPM!

13.7 sounds about right..but that 12.9 is definitely NOT stock! they are fun to drive if the only thing on your mind is hp and tq, nevermind anything else

I beleive that the 01 and 02 Camaro's do 12's stock. My friend has an 01 Trans Am(Non WS6) and he did a 14.2 up here at 5800 feet above sea level. Which is high 12's at sea level I beleive.

Well i raced a E46 M3 from a stop to the end of 3rd twice. The outcome was the same on both races, he used to hang with me in my 1st gear. After shifting to 2nd i start pulling away slightly. In third i start pulling more and we end up having around 1-1 1/2 car between us. Oh by the way the M3 was stronger than Camaro's SS or T/A WS6. I raced few Camaro's SS and the M3 did better. Most LS1's runs mid 13's at 103-107MPH in traps stock. My car does have a Catback and a LID only when the race took place.

I've an 01 go 12s and an 02 go fast enough for 12s, both with 109 mph traps. one 12.88 or so (just under 12.9), that was a ws6, the SS 02, ran 13.08 or so (just under 13.10 but actually trapped high 109s, the ws6 right about 109 flat. These were stock to paper filter with pretty good drivers.

The MM&FF article reports running with a headwind and pulling equivalent times out of the m3 and SS. With the M3 running 12.8 before, as they expect the SS would.

"SS time again. Smith got the hang of the launch (2.15 60-ft.) and blazed the track in 13.252 at 106.42. "

"As you can tell by the mph, the headwind wreaked havoc with our elapsed times...while we've gone 109 in other Z/28s. The M3 in our sidebar ran nearly a half-second and 3 mph slower on our test day than its previous best. "

ws6

my brother has a 2002 WS6 and his is bone stock, and he has been to the track a shit load of times, and his best run was a 13.4 in 85 degree weather. they are rated at 13.2 from the factory but thats B/S. the Z06 is like 12.6 stock or some shit like that. but i had a CL-S loaner when i took my car in for the A/C and i raced my brother from a stop, from a roll, on the highwa, and he smoked me like there was no tomorrow. but i was at the track this past Wed. nighte, and this guy with a TL-S was running 14.1's he has a lot of shit on that thing
