Raced an 2006 Accord V6
Raced an 2006 Accord V6
I'm sure this race has happened quite a bit. Let me start by saying theres were zero cars around us during the race and this was an uphill race.
I was cruising along the road and I see this Black accord with a OEM body kit start maneuvering through the lanes trying to get next to me. Finally, she does. Looks pretty clean I must say. All black with dark tint. No cars in front of us that I can see and I can always drop back if it gets uncomfortable. Sure why not?
We start off at 60 MPH. Despite no countdown, we dropped the hammer at the same time. She actually stays next to me for a second but then I start pulling away. By about 85 MPH, I had a good 2-3 car lengths on the Accord and still pulling away. I'm sure that if we went up to 100-110, the difference would have been a tad more.
Any other experiences with these new Accords?

This has discussed many times before, but heres my take....
I raced an accord v6 coupe (manual, 240hp) in my 04TL (5AT) when I had that, a couple runs on the highway. From around 70-100, we were nearly even, with my car pulling ahead by around 1 car length both times. I also raced an AT accord v6 sedan under the same parameters, beat her by several car lengths to 95 or so. The manual and less weight definitely makes a difference.

what were you driving, by the way? none of the fastest stock Acuras (i.e. Type S', 3G TL) on here can do that to a current V6 Accord. the race would turn out how NightRider's did.
the current AV6C should be the equivalent of the CLS6, right guys?

Based on my findings the MT accord v6 coupe = 5at CLS/3GTL. 20 less hp but slightly better whp ratio and manual, possibly less weight too. I would think with more wheel horsepower and the manuals a CLS6 or TL6 would pull on even a 6MT accord v6 coupe.
