For those who live in NOVA proabably know where 28 is around the Toll Road.

We get off the exit and pay the toll, I see the Max with the silver tail lining take off. I'm stuck behind this car paying a toll. I finally get out. Eventually I catch him and pass him but I'm doing 125 ish by this time. We hit a red light. I'm not sure if he wants to play so light turns green, he screeches and I give him a jump. I hear him chirp 2nd and by the time I hit 80 I was about a car ahead and pulling...by 110 I'm about 4 cars or so and still walking away. I slow down but he doesn't come. So I U Turn and go to Curry's. I don't know about no 14.0 to 1/4 for these cars...that figure is SUSPECT to me.

Thanx...I honestly thought the 6spd Max was pretty fast til today. I think any CLS with H will take one off the line and I also thing 14.0 in the 1/4 for a 6spd MAX is REAL SUSPECT...cuz I know my car ain't no 13.6 car.

I seen a 6sp at the track run a 14.9 and that was his best all night! it was in November and good racing weather. Even with intake and exhaust I don't think it will do 14 flat! IMHO!!!!!

I would give it a mid 14 sec car at best with a pretty damn good driver. I saw a few MAX guys post they've seen 14.0 at the track but I find that a little hard to believe.

it's all in the first 60' ...dont pull a 2.0 and it's mid 14's....get out good and i could see 14.2-14.3

You won't see to many do that. Unless they have an empty tank and take out the spare and other stuff. Its been done like you said but not to many broke those numbers bone Stock! Every STOCK one I seen at the track never dipped in the LOW 14.s, I seen some slightly modded do it but Not BONE STOCK!

I ran a 14.6 bone stock in a 2k2 auto maxima and a 14.3 with intake and UDP and 13.9 with slicks.

You can tell, the car will squat on shifts. Also, their 2nd will chirp when they race you. But in any case, your car will take both auto and 6spd having driven and raced your car. This is like my 3 Max 6spd race...all same outcome.

Remember when BMW gave me an Enterprise 02 Auto Max and I complained how bad it was once its cruising around 60 mph.

Yes, I have a Silver Dinan 5. The back has black Dinan 5 deck badge. This was on Saturday around 11 AM on 28 about 4 lights before the CarMax. I wanna say the MAX was like a dark silver. Couldn't see if there were any passengers. But at the light we took off from, there was a M3, 318 and a Supra turning left.

Light turned green, you took off first chirping, then I heard your second chirp...BTW, before we hit the light...damn you were flying! Took me about 110-120 maybe higher to catch you.

Did you have to turn right or something? I noticed you pulled all the way to the right lane when I was about to make a U Turn.

Yeah, that was me. Sad to say that my Max is really majestic blue but the weather's been so nasty that she's more like "snow-dirt grey". I won't call it a killed though and here's why...

- We started from the light about a wheel behind you because I was trying to get a look at the numbers on the back of your ride. When I saw Dinan5, I was like oh shit, no wonder you were coming up so fast before. I decided to give it a try but I didn't want to inch up even because I didn't want to get a rolling jump. It did seem like you waited to see what I would do because I felt like I had a wheel on you as soon as we started.

- I know you were running hard (so was I) but the main reason that you left me so bad so soon was because just as our light turned green, two cars turned right onto Rt28 off of Rt606. The first one took the far right lane and the second took the middle. I had to let off almost as soon as I got into second...the run was over.

I pulled into the far right lane to see if I could split them and get back to the middle but there was no room and it would have been stupid anyway. You and me were neck-and-neck just before that, otherwise I would have pulled left and trailed you. You may have already started pulling but I couldn't tell. By the time I got back in the middle lane, you were long gone and already slowing in the far left turn lane to make the U-turn in front of Holiday Inn. I hit the flashers as I went by just to say nice run (0-60, that is).

I'm not saying that you weren't already pulling or that it wouldn't have eventually been a kill...I don't really know. All I'm saying is that there was traffic and I had to back off before it got good. Bottom line: That was not a run that can really be used to judge either car.

Again, you've got a nice ride there, AC. Looks phat and runs hard. I don't know Bimmers very well but what is she without all the Dinan goodies? 540? M5? 6sd or auto?

In that case...good run then. I too was wondering why you were all the way to the right and all of a sudden you were like 20 or so cars back...I knew you were either turning right or you were following someone!

Honestly, I have raced other 6spd MAX and the outcome is typically the same. 1st and 2nd is close, 3 is where I pull, highway is different I guess.

Come to think of it you're right, it was a blue MAX! I will say this...GOOD LAUNCH! Most people probably would have sat there a bit but you just chirped.

540i automatic...just done a lot shit to the car. Besides a very few people, most MAX owners I met are straight up enthsiasts.
About 3 years ago, there was a good Nismo meet up here. Too bad I had already sold my 98 5spd SE (which I loved to death...still wish I had her).

But based on my experience, I would say tha NovaWhiteTypeS will probably outrun most 6spd stock ones...watch out for him his car is pretty damn fast! Stock for Stock 6spd vs 6spd, I have no idea...

Now that the virus has bought a new car I dont see many problems. I will be looking forward to seeing A4 1.8T kills on Maximas and CL-S's.

I never really liked the BMW Interior of the M3 last gen. I love how Audi does theres and basically fell in love with it. The power isn't a big deal since I don't race daily. lol! At least I will get better gas milege now especially since gas has gone up quite a bit.

But yes I got the car, picking it up Saturday and possibly post pictures that night. I dunno what happened to the thread that guy posted, I just saw it disappear before I could reply to DAve B post I saw him post.

Thanks, man. I would like to get behind the wheel but probably won't have time before you sell her. Also, I'd probably end up wanting to buy it and then not appreciating my own ride like I do now.

Also, there's no time. I got engaged over Christmas, have a baby on the way and we're moving into a new house. I'll take a rain check until you get the M5. Then I'll find the time!

Since this is the CL forum-

I finally got a test drive in the new CL-S 6spd. The salesman was too big to get in the back seat so my fiance and I had it to ourselves for about an hour.

Nice ride, just different from my Max. I felt like my car was quicker but the CL-S had only 23 miles, no mods, and was not ready to be pushed as hard as I pushed it. It felt heavier than the Max but also felt more solid taking tight corners close to the limit. On high speed sweepers I like the feel of the Max better. Though I'm sure the CL-S is a beast with headers and the other goodies.

The best thing about it was that schweet gear box. I wish I could transplant that feel to the Max!
