Quotes

I've gotten two quotes this week on a 2001 CLS with Navi.

31,822 (tax, title, tags, floor mats, splash guards, and wheel locks)
31,787 (tax, title, tags, floor mats, splash guards, and wheel locks)

This seems about $1000 to high. Can anyone attest to lower prices on these cars from March 2001 on?

Not if your in CALI (7.25%) or any other state with sales tax at 5% or more. Thats a great deal. In California different counties sales tax is different.

Sales tax for the car in NC is $918.30. They are charging $198 for documentation fee and $61 for plates. I am going to check with the DMV to see if it's cheaper to just switch my old plates over.

The actual price of the car has been between $30,454 and $30,610. The car has been out over a year, shouldn't the price be between 29.5 and 30.0?

I'm want to hear about some great deals on these cars to give me some negotiating power.

rwwlaw,

What was the dealerships first offer?

I'm waiting on one more quote, then I'm going back to the 30,454 guys and offer 29,800 to see what they will counter with.

Where are you? The best offer i've seen in DC area is Pohanka w/ 30525 + tax and tags, which is about 32120 out the door.

It's the 3rd car I bought from them including a 2000 RL! It was their 2nd offer! Basically Invoice - the 2% holdback! They do this cause the more cars they sell the better the allotments on the hot new models ie TLS RSX etc....

The true market value on the CL-S is $29,985 as of right now. This is according to Edmunds and Money magazine watch. I bought mine 3 weeks ago for $28,367.00 in California (included dest. charge, wheel locks, mud guards & door edge guards) The CL-S TMV has gone up $400-500 dollars in the past 3 weeks. I obtained my great deal through carpoint.com. The internet sales lady at Solano Acura (Hopkins Acura) was a gem all around. You should shoot for no more than $28,800 right now (that includes dest.charge MG's, wheel locks) If your sales tax is only $810.00 then the prices quoted are too much.

Purchased a silver CL-S without navigation. $15,000 down and I financed the rest. Price out the door with California sales Tax/DMV fees and regis. was $30,845.00. I purchased the spoiler afterwards for $600.00 installed.

That's awesome with the NAVI. I know Maryland has sales tax. What was your cost before sales tax and MVA fees were added.

Those are some awesome prices. I'm probably going to wait until Sept. and order a 2002 so I can sell the truck and get a little more to put down (gas prices are going to kill me this summer).

The wholesale price of a Type S with Navi is $29,469.51. You guys getting close to this have dealers with incentive packages and holdbacks from Acura. Unfortunately, there is no way to know which dealers get them and which ones don't. I still think I can get out the door for at least $30,800 (with tax, title and tags).

I don't remember exactly I will have to pull my sales paperwork and let you know. One thing I did though was to go in at the first of the month and build up a rapport with the sales manager and even let him run a credit check, once he saw my credit record was excellent he was willing to work a little harder to sell me the car. two weeks later I walked in and test drove a type s again for about the third time. while i was test driving I explained that I already had my check from my credit union but was having trouble deciding between the CL S and the (at the time) newly released 330. since he knew that I had the money on me he really didn't want to let me leave the lot that night without making the deal, but i did. well to sum it up, two weeks later (now the end of the month) he called me up and made me an offer I just couldn't refuse. I believe that my patience and teasing them for several weeks paid off in saving me a substantial amount of money on my purchase.
