Quick question regarding SRS light reset

Those of you that have headed to a dealer to have them reset it - about how long were you there?

I'm wondering if I'll have time to get it done on lunch, or if it's something I should take care of on a weekend.

Thanks.

The reset might not help, it might come back on. You should go to the dealer because seat belts have life time warranty. Even though I was out of warranty, they fixed my SRS light for free because it was a faulty seat belt sensor that made SRS light go. So the fix was free.

Mine came on twice. Both times it was repaired under warranty. Both times it took a couple days because they didn't have the part they needed. But they gave me a loaner until they got it replaced.

If they have the part you need, it should only take a couple hours, max.

Do you know offhand what the part is? I'd much rather just replace it myself than drop the car off.

However if they loan me an '06 RL for a few days I suppose I could suck it up.

I was going to mention the sticky in the "problems and fixes forum", but I see you've found it

Good luck on getting an RL. And I'm not sure which part it was. I believe the parts were not the same both times.

I was having the same problem with my SRS light. I talked with Acura of Tempe yesterday and they said that the issue is sometimes related to lack of power. I had recently replaced my battery and the light went on about 2-3 days after. It could also be an alternator issue. The recall is only valid to those who have issues with the side airbag warning light or (opd). the seatbelt tensioner can only be replaced if it's defective. He said it would cost me about $120 to fix the SRS light issue. Fuck that. that much to just reset the codes? I told him to shove it.

well, don't assume that you all have the same problem. there could be many reasons why SRS light goes on. The most expensive reason if your entire SRS module goes bad, it'll cost you $600 bucks.
But I think seat-belt buckle sensor is a common problem and covered under life-time seatbelt warranty

I did. However my question wasn't about the problem itself, just how long folks were at the dealer, so I figured it would be better served here.
