quick question about coilovers
i just put TEIN SS on my car. It's the best purchase that I have made for my CL-S.
It rides slightly stiffer than stock w/ the settings that I have it on right now (read my sig)
handling is superb...absolutely no regrets.
It'll cost you $920 shipped.

huh...for coilovers you're looking at least $650 for the NEX.
The only reason I didn't go w/ them is because the dampening is not adjustable. Ride height is though.
I paid a little more, but I'm getting TEIN quality + ride adjustability.
For that price range I suggest Comptech lowering springs.

ok now im kinda confused, my gay friend just told me that adjustable coilovers do not lower the car, they just change the ride? will someone please explain what adjustable coilovers do! i am sooo confused thx.
never take advice from a gay person...all they want to do is stick it up your ass.
Coilovers are ride height adjustable as well as ride stiffness.
Look at the following pictures...see the silver threads with the two silver looking washers at the end of the spring. By twisting those washers down the thread you lower your car. By twisting them up the thread you raise the car.

I'm going to bed...I'll answer questions if you have more tomorrow.

As for adjustment the NEX you can adjust spring rate and you can adjust height, so they are pretty adjustable but I think you are right, the Tein can adjust more specifically the dampening.
Be warned though, if you do any sort of decent drop (anything over 2") you WILL need at least one camber kit (front or rear depending on where your car cambers most) or both (like mine).
A good set of camber kits costs $300 for fronts and rears.
when you lower your car past a certain point, the top of the tires have no where to go but tilt inward into the wheel well.
I saw someone else post the following illus. for demo purposes. The illus are as if you are looking directly at your car, and the two bars are your tires:
standard ride height tire configuration:
_|___|_
lowered tire configuration:
_/___\_
basically a camber kit will correct the inward tilt of your wheel resulting in even tire wear. Definitely recommended for two+ inch drop.
