Quick driving questions?
Is it bad to.... and how bad...
1)Rev the car when you are in park (floor it till the fule cuts off)
2)Rev it in neutral while you are moving (like doing 30mph and throwing it into neutral to rev it )
3)Drive with sport shift the whole time and tryin to keep the rpm low so you conserve gas...(i know about throwing it into 4th when you are doing like 30 puts alot of stress on the engine put i dont do that i go easy on it like just upshifting and gliding almost to save gas)
4)driving off within like 30 seconds of turning on a car when it is still cold and the rpm is high when you are ideling in park (cold start)... i read somewhere that you should warm the car up by driving not waiting for it to warm up by itself in one place...
5)whats better when flooring it... lets say you are doing 50mph and you floor it and it down shifts byitself to 2nd gear from 5th or is it better to down shift to 2nd with SS and then floor it...or floor it while you are in SS in 5th while you are quickly tapping it down to go into second..
i know it best if you dont do any of this and drive your $35k car how you are supposed to but im a d**k and like to take full advantage of my car untill it brakes down on me and i have to buy a new one...

letting the car warm up is a waste of time and gas. 30 seconds to a minute is plenty.. the oil will lubricate fine at low temps.. just don't push it.
I don't know why you feel the need to put the engine in neutral while moving and rev it, but this does nothing to a manual tranny so I'm assuming you will be ok.

1) no, unless you have a manual and are at the track trying to launch, or checking for exhaust problems, otherwise your looking like a moron (especially if an automatic car is revving )
2) See # 1 unless your rev matching (again with a manual) and down shifting.
3) is fine unless your loading the engine (i.e. In 5th gear (A/T) and have the throttle half way down)
4) Not wise to beat the hell out of the car until it's up to normal operating temps.
5) I never applied throttle at the same time as down shifting (in my Auto CLS), I always down shifted, then nailed it, with the glass tranny I didn't feel it was wise to lay into the gas while downshifting.
You can still have fun with the car, and still take care of it, no need to try and break it, if you have an auto, it will most likely break on it's own, no need to push the person in the wheelchair down the hill.

i would only rev it in neutral when im driving if i want to race some one and it sounds "cool" lol especially when you are in a tunnel...always get ppl to turn their heads....and when i rev it i let it go into neutral completely first, rev, then wait for it to drop back down to like 1rpm then shift so you dont even feel anything like no jerking or anything thats why i asked, i didnt think it would be bad for the tranny...
thanx chopper that was helpfull

[QUOTE=Chopper]4) Not wise to beat the hell out of the car until it's up to normal operating temps.
QUOTE]
What are normal operating temps?
I usually wait until the temp gauge is at about a third to beat on my car. (Usually takes about 5-10 minutes) The highest my temp gauge normally goes is about half way.

The factory t-stat opens at 178 degrees, I believe.
The coolant guage should be at a little less than halfway. If it ever goes above that, you are probably over heating. A third of the way is fine to get on it.

B/T/W ~ Try to avoid VTEC until it is @ regular operating temp.
