Questions regarding looks........

Has anyone on this forum, that has changed out there stock springs for the comptech spring, painted the springs black like the stock ones just for appearance? If so, is the black color a gloss finish or a regular flat black or powder coated.

Any opinions on this idea. I just dont like the idea that I will be looking or seeing silver springs when the rest is black in that area.

My car's gap is less than 2 fingers in the front with the Comptech and unless your nose is REAL close you won't have to worry about the color unless your car is up on a lift a lot. If you are worried, spray it whatever color you want. It shouldn't hurt the springs. TheCT springs are a nice drop, for the exact reason of not seeing into the wheel-well.

Good luck, PM with questions. I've had my springs for about 8 months.

It's actually pretty difficult to see the springs once the car is lowered. Don't think regular paint would hold up very long.

If ypu had to name the black color on the suspension parts, would it be a powder coat, flat back, semi gloss black or gloss black. I have seen some black paint at Pep Boys that is for preventing rust and given metal parts an OEM look.

You will never get a powder coat like finish with any spray paints. Spray paints are getting smarter and more advanced these days, with metallic addins and all, maybe that's what there are refering to. But it will never hold up.

I've always found good luck with the CAR TEMP paints they sell in discound autoparts and such. They are suppost to be OEM color matched paints, and they are half the size of a regular spraypaint can.

I wouldnt really worry about painting them. My springs are green(neuspeed)with yellow konis, and yes you cant see it unless you are looking in the wheel well up close.
