Questions on brake job...

how hard is it to replace the pads? not difficult, i assume. also, do i have to resurface the rotors everytime i change pads? i am going to replace my rear pads this weekend and was wondering if i should get the rear rotors resurfaced or am i safe just replacing pads. its been 75k miles on these pads and rotors. thanks!

IMO, get the rotors resurfaced. See if you can get someone to grind them. 75k is a long time -- you got your money's worth.

There are some folks who will tell you that's its perfectly ok to leave the rotors alone. I've done this too, and nothing bad happened. However:

Please read the following:

It's one voice, but there is some good info in there...

on doing rear pads...I see no reason to get the rotors re-surfaced. If u where doing the fronts then I would recommend getting ur rotors resurfaced. NOW.....I'm not saying this is the 100% correct way to do rear brake pads....AND in just about any manual u will ever look at will tell u to resurface the rear rotors, BUT...I have done literally hundreds of brake jobs and unless u have grooves or dis-colering or hot spots in the rear rotors....I have never resurfaced them. And every single one of them have had no complaints, problems, or come-backs!!!
