Questions about mods and insurance
Questions about mods and insurance
I just switched my insurance to go through Price Costco and saved over 400$/year over Geico (who was already a good bit less than the other palces I checked) for better coverage.
Now, hopefully this can save some others money, but here's my real question:
On my applciation they asked if there were any mods done to the car and they had plaaces to check for wheels, stereo, video etc. but really nothing for performance parts.
So, the question is do I share more information and tell them I have 1200$ headers, plus money in shocks, sways, springs etc. and worry that they will screw my rates up because of the performance parts or just let it slide? I guess if I don't tell them about them and the car gets stolen I'm out the money for those parts?? Or, am I ok because there was no place on the sheet to check for headers etc?
What do you all think?

I don’t know about performance mods, but I have extra coverage for my audio gear.
It’s only like 30 bucks a year for 2,000 dollars coverage.
I found out the hard way a few years back that Allstate only pays for equipment that is mounted in the “factory” locations.
I had a CD deck, (2) Amps and a Sub box stolen out of my Omni-GLHS back in 88’.
They only paid to fix the broken window & replace the CD deck.
