Question for the Zaino Experts

I just received my Zaino products and I'm going to use it for the first time. I did not order the clay bar, but after reading the instructions I wished that I had done so.
How important is the clay application? Is there a good substitute for the clay that is available at the local auto stores? I can order the clay but I'm trying to avoid the 2-week-wait.
thanks for the help...

Claying is definitely a good thing to do beforehand. It really does make a difference. Based on what I've heard, I'd avoid the Meguiar's clay bar since it might leave residue and also the red Clay Magic bar since it could be too aggressive in it's abrasives. The Mother's bar or blue Clay Magic bar should be okay though. I do have the Zaino claybar and it worked very well but I'd think you'd get comparable results with Mother's or Clay Magic. Anybody else have advice on this??

Wait and order the Zanio and you will not regret it. If you feel the need to get the ride looking good then you can always wash the zanio off with some dishwashing degtergant. It helps get all the crap that's caked on the paint. Once you apply a good number of Zanio coast most the of stuff just wipes right off

I just used the Mother's the other day and it was fine.

I must say, though, that not much at all came off of my car. Now, when I did my mom's altima today, however, I pulled off tons of crap and the finish went from sandpaper to silky smooth--huge difference there.

So, I don't think you really HAVE to do your new car unles when you feel the paint you feel that it is sort of gritty.
