Question for you guys

Have any of you ever thought about putting 3.0 heads on your 3.2 so that it would give you a higher compression? This might be an old topic but I'm too lazy to search, I was just curious because I have a friend with chevy 5.7 and put 5.3 truck heads on for some more horses!
Any info helps thanks.

Why would you want higher compression, so you can no longer run on pumped gas?

I don't know if that combination would work but if you believe in the myth that high compression = HP than your leading up a troubled path. It's called DETONATION!!!!!

I have a 12.5:1 comp 396 chev motor that can only run 110 octane fuel.
I've recently converted it to alcohol injection to run my roots blower.

Seen what too much compression does when there is detonation. BYE --BYE pistons.

Well, I don't think going from a 3.2 to a 3.0 head is going to create enough compression were you would have to run racing fuel, it was just a thought.

All I know is that my buddy has an 1999 z28 with a LS1 block with 5.3L heads and he runs pump fuel, and it is his daily driver.

I have a 3.0 CL and I was just trying to brain storm some ideas, becuase it seems like on the first gen forum all they talk about is wheels, speakers and who would win out of a race between a 3.0 and a 2.3

But it was just an idea. Thanks for you two cents.
