What is the purpose of the 2 horizontal bars connected to the trunk lid? The metal bracket in the middle came off, dislodged itself from the chasis by the trunk light and now those two bars vibrate like crazy whenever my bass kicks in. how can i fix it?

 

Those are torsion bars. That's what helps the trunk lid lift.
You can get one of those clips from the dealer. Hopefully they'll replace it under warranty. If not, it's not expensive.

 

No, it's the whole bracket that came off. not just the plastic piece. the metal part which is connected to the plastic.

 

Same thing happened to mine. You are going to have to get somebody to weld it on. I asked Acura to fix it and they said that they didn't have the appropriate tools to do so. Might just want to take it to a muffler shop or a body shop.

i would too but it rattles like crazy when my bass hits. and whenever i open my trunk, those two bars hit my rear speakers. i will look for someone to weld it this weekend.
