question on OEM replacement HID light bulb

I am one of the unfortunate Cl owners who fell victim to theft and had to have my front head light bulb replaced. To make the long story short, the right fender was damaged; they did not succeed in taking the light bulb but it was broken so it had to be replaced as well. The body shop did a good job but I have one minor issue: the replacement bulb looks a bit yellowish when compared with the one from the factory. The difference is slight but still noticeable. This makes me wonder if I've got a defective part or does HID light bulb changes color over time? By the way, I've been driving the car since 5/2000. Any feedback and comments will be greatly appreciated!

Hid's change color slightly after use. so when changing hid bulbs its reccommended you change them in pairs.

Try the philips 6000k their around 300 bucks for a pair.

Hi novawhitetypes and others:

Hmm, interesting comment....Maybe the old bulb changed to a slightly "bluer" shade after use? It would be a pain to buy another bulb since each of them cost $196 and change!

i ran into this on a 2001 e320 it was also in the body shop for a run in with a deer, anyway one headlamp was more yellow, i found that it was an osram bulb, and the originals are phillips, (then i found out that phillips are only for mb production and osram is for replacement, so i got him another osram, but he did not like the yellow color, so i traded them with a new car that was going to another dealer
i would make sure that the bulbs are from the same mfg, if not get your old bulb back (if it was not broken) and put it in, and yes the bulbs will change there color i think it might be after 60 hours of burning

Unfortunately, the old bulb is crushed so I guess I may have to shell out another $196 and change to get another bulb to match the new one's shade and color
