Have you been able to successfully “program” the new 2002 TL remote FOB’s to work with the 2001 CL yet?

I saw this post over on the TL Forum: Remote and they look pretty COOL.

If you have managed to get this to work, could you get a price on the new remotes and maybe bring a couple to the NJ MEET on Saturday.
I would buy one from you if the price is reasonable.

Yes the remotes for the '02 TL will work for the '01 CL.Give our parts department a call at (201)587-0029 ask for Jon,Lisa or Ron they can give you an exact price on the remotes.I'm at home now so I have no access to the info.I can bring them to the meet but I have no idea if they have them in stock and on something like that they would probably prefer to have them prepaid.Jens

I just checked my HELM and I read about how to “program” a new remote to the car.
I guess I will just pursue getting one from my local dealer sometime later.

I called my dealer this afternoon (Lehigh Valley Acura) and ordered one of the new remotes.
45-bucks minus my 10% preferred discount comes to 40.50 for the unit.
It should be here on Monday or Tuesday.

The parts guy swears that it won’t work, but I trust the fact that Jens has tested it out for us.

According to the instructions (see scan), you can have up to (3) controllers programmed to your car.
I can’t see why there can’t be (2) old and (1) new.
That is the way I plan to do it.

When you order your remotes you may want to specify which memory position (1 or 2) that you want. I ordered a remote from my local dealer and it was a #1 which was the one that I wanted to replace. So now I have two #1s and one #2 - all functioning

 

Called the dealer, they want 49.50 to order. Will get it in two days. Probably order it tommorrow.

I don’t see how you could do that.
Your timing must be off or you’re doing something wrong.

It worked the first time for me following the directions above EXACTLY.

If it doesn’t work the first time, just try “programming” them again.
