Question for anyone with Neuspeed Upper Strut Bar

Did you have to jack up your car on one side to get it to fit? I have loosened all of the nuts and cannot get it to fit. It is a close fit but it won't go. I have tried forcing from each side.

I've had mine for a really long time but I remember it went on just fine without the car being jacked up or anything. Main thing is to make sure that you're parked on a level surface so that the car isn't leaning more towards one side than the other.

ok you need 2 people to do this job

first put one side in and put the nuts on but dont tighten them. next have the weaker person stand on that side of the car. have them grab where the bar bends and tell them to pull it back. while he/she is pulling you push from the other side. again grab hold of where the bar bends and push it into place. i tried all kinds of methods, jacking the car up 2 people pushing it in and this method was the best and easiest.

good luck

If doing yourself, will jacking up the car on one side help by reducing the tension in the strut assembly?

I just installed mine tonight!

It wouldn't fit with the car flat on the ground. I followed the included instructions and loosened the third bolt and the bolts on the stock bar, and then jacked up that side of the car. Once the tire was just off the ground the bar fit on without a problem. I snugged down the bolts, let the car down, and then tightened.

Jacking one side up added about 2 minutes to an otherwise 6 minute job. Pretty easy.

I noticed a slight improvement in steering response, but didn't push the car as the road are wet/slushy (damn winter just won't end), and for some reason, there were too many police cruising around my neighborhood.

I rechecked the bolts after the short drive and noticed they had tightened up a little. I left them alone. I cannot find any torque recommendations for those bolts.

Springs, sways and headers to be installed next month at PAA.

Mine just fit no problem once I jacked up the car. Wow!! Made a pretty big difference driving with it. I just went around some twisties and the car is definitely stiffer. I may need to loosen my shocks a little now.

I had to jack up one side of my car and TUG LIKE HELL on the bar to get the studs started in the holes.
I know that sucker is on there good and tight now.

Interestingly, when I installed my Comptech Headers we needed to remove the strut bar to get at the rear bank.
After the install was done, the bar dropped right back on with minimal trouble.

I jacked up one side and it still would not fit. I then to the big f-ing hammer and big screw driver and took one good swing on the side that was not quite fitting. Problem Solved.
