Question for All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend was looking to buy A4 last weekend, when he went to the dealer, he asked him how is CL-S is different from A4. Dealer said that CL-S is peace of sheat car that made in USA somewhere, it is not Japanies car. He said for $2300 he could bring A4 to over 300 HP. Is is it true? Our car is made in USA?

Thanks.

The CL is made in Ohio. The transmission and engine are from Japan.

Yes, our car is made in the US (Ohio). However, the Marysville plant has the highest quality rating of plants in America. Is your friend looking for a turbo or NA version of the A4? Nice cars but too small and not reliable...

Well something like 20% of our parts are OEM Japan..... but yes the CL is assembled in America.

A4 are nice, but they don't have power seats, leather is not an option, ask them about how their navigation compares to ours (its el crappo) and stock for stock doesn't compare.

Now modifying the A4 turbo for $2300, they'll be chipping your car to up the boost (which potentially voids warranty on some engine parts, remember engineers designed it as A4 not an S4), free oil maintenence (or I've heard) up to their warranty limit, their stick shift is nice for a 4 cyl., but A4s are not comparable to the S4. A4 are a fancy Volkswagen passat. (Trivia, did you know Volkswagen means Peoplemover in German?)

Sounds like a dumbass salesman (yeah, I know, kinda redundant! )

I think it's a big turnoff when a salesman bashes another manufacturer. It reeks of unprofessionalism which is unfortunately very prevalent among the sales staff at many dealerships.

he he... I think that's funny... especially since the turbo models are having so many problems (esp. the S4). Kind of makes me glad our car is built in Ohio which has the reliability of imported cars. My CL was made in the US and I had it for 3 years and almost 65k miles without any problems whatsoever. Just put in gas and changed the oil. I've yet to meet an Audi owner who hasn't had several problems in the first 3 years of ownership.....

There was a post about 4 months ago that showed a list of cars with least problems over the last two years. I believe Acura was #1 last year and #2 this year. Lexus was #3 and this year #1. and Jaguar was #2 and #3. If someone could find that again, maybe i'm wrong. But these three were the best. So if anyone says Acuras are bad they really don't know their shit. The engines can take a lot. They are good overall made cars. Quiet, Luxury, Sport, Hold up well. I know people that have beat the crap out of Integras that are have 80-120K miles and they still run pretty good. Try that with an Audi or most American cars. I know about three kids with A4's 1.8 and 2.8 They seem to have a lot of electrical problems and I don't like them too much, tight for taller people. But the new design that is about to come out, they have fixed a lot of those problems that the last generation Audi's had. As for Jaguar; look at this. These cars had a laundry list of problems before Ford (American) took half the stake. The new ones basically never have any problems. So I don't think it is were the car is made. It is who is designing it and who figures out the problems that makes the difference.

My 92 Nissan Maxima was built like a true machine. I never changed the transmission. Before I traded it in for my CL-S I had 205,600 miles. Nissans last long.
