Question about the tint

hay guys...
I did my window tint yesterday, when I walked out of the tint store.
I didn't realize that they didn't cover the whole one. the red circle is the area that didn't cover..
I wonder anybody has the same problem as I have?

thanks

most shops do not tint that because it will cause air pockets. but most of them should also be able to offer to sand it down and tint over it for more $$$. should have been discussed pre-tint. call them and complain.

it's called the dot matrix.. and mine is tinted but there is bubbling. if you go to a decent shop they will do it with no problems.

Any tint shop that knows what they are doing can & will tint over that area problem free.
They will not even bring it up to you.

Tinting over dot matrix is not difficult. Problems come from a poorly prepared surface. Obviously dot matrix cannot be razor scraped like regular glass, but it should be scrubbed with a non-scratching pad and then thoroughly rinsed with a tint compatible solvent.

either that or have them take it off and give your money back if they dont want to tint the matrix. The easiest solution would have been to discuss it in the first place. Whenever i drop my car off to someone i ALWAYS ask whats gonna be done, and what is not, how it will be done so i have a understanding of what will be done to my car. In the case of a tint shop i would ask there policy on bubbles and such, and i would have discussed the dot matrix. In my case i just had him stick black opaque vinyl in that location. If i dont feel comfortable with the shop or just don't feel right, i'll walk and find another place.

just make sure if you get them to redo it or take it off.. they don't mess up your rear window grid...
