question about Making a Custom Mesh Grill

For those of you that don;t know there is a really good article in the gargage portion of this site written by sivlerknight, he explains how to make a really cheap way to making the front of your CL look good.

I was wondering if anyone has done this and would like to hear about the turnouts. Also an experience with paiting them would be great to hear also. I am wondering and curious if it is also possible to cover up the whole front bumper with mesh. I am talking about the symbol holder and the intake below it i believe it would look bad ass if all the intakes were covered with mesh. Just an diea what do you guys think, also the lights could be covered to. If anyone has doen this i would love to hear it, and a procedure of taking the front bumper off. Bye all and happy racing=))

Mine looks awesome. i cut out the mesh behind the A symbol in the front and for the bottom I put the Mesh BEHIND the openings. It looks subtle but adds a great detail to the front end. When I took it in for service last, the entire sales and repair staff flocked to the car....

Dantes, I've already done the mesh grill on my car.

I'll go snap a pic if youd like.

I want a pic of what BBS did though... he sounds like he did something completely differnt.

Dantes, checkout soopa's sig. BTW, are you coming to the meet this Sat at noon?

BBS, I think it would look awesome if you remove the mesh behind the A. I've been too busy with the going project to even attemp that. please post some pic to show us.

Here is a picture of my mesh grill. This picture was taken from a distance, so you can't see the detail. But the part i love is that when you look at it for this angle, it looks like the "A" is just floating there.

hmm, this is a real cool idea! Will do it this weekend. Actually, wait. Next weekend .. my car is in the shop due to those bastards kicking the hell out of it

but anyways, soopa, it sounds like the only thing BBS did different (from what I understood of his post) is cut out like a oval area in the center of the mesh cutout where the A symbol fits .. so there's mesh everywhere except behind the A symbol?

I may be wrong

Yes this is true. You take the A off from behind with two screws, use dikes to cut the mesh and VOILA! no mesh behind A

So the A is holding in the mesh too right? I mean around the circular area that was cut for the A to fit in.
