question about car jerks
question about car jerks
Hi,
Not sure anybody has posted this topic or where I can find in this forum. I just bought a new 2001 Acura 3.2 CL Type S. But I found out my car will jerk slightly and engine sounds like turning from high to low spining mode after I stop on red light idling for a while.
Does anybody has same problem? or the problem will go off as I drive more.
Any help info or suggestion?

Welcome to the Acura family. Bring your car back to a dealership and have it looked at. It's under warranty !

What's your RPM when idling?

This is somewhat normal during extended idling- it can almost feel like someone bumped you in the rear! It seems to be the engine idle compensating for changing load conditions- ac compressor, alt. etc. We have had many comments about this but there is really nothing wrong. I feel it all the time in both my CL-s and my wifes TL. No need to worry- just be aware that it will happen at times!

It sounds like the AC compressor cycling. They all do it. Keep your foot firmly on the brake while in gear.

heh, I thought this thread would be about asshole drivers. i.e. - jerks that drive.
Ya, it's the A/C compressor. Remember, we have a HUGE A/C compressor, look in the CL brochure, it claims one of the "coldest" A/C's.
