question??????

Sup fellas. Just had question. On tl-s and on my cl-s when I had my intake on the cars made a humming sound when on. The intake was on the tl when I got, so I just took it off and installed on my cl. It has no name maybe that's the reason. But I just wanted to see if anyone else had these problems. Thanks.

It's a short ram I guessing. My Weapon-R did the same thing. Get a CAI and there will be no hum.

Icebox will take care of that problem.

Not too many guys run short ram intakes. Most go with traditional CAI like the AEM's or an Icebox.

Comptech Icebox ftw. If you really like a loud growl, then go with a AEM CAI. I liked a lower noise, so I got the Icebox.

Yes, I had the same problem with my Weapon-R short ram. It's so worth getting a new intake to get rid of the hum. The only way to get rid of it is to do this because believe I tried everything. I have an AEM CAI now and I love it. Great fit and finish and great HP and sound.

Why does everyone always forget about the Injen CAI? I've read it's actually better quality wise than the AEM.

I haven't forgotten about the Injen. I had one on my Nissan 240SX and it was great. My only gripe its that it usually only comes in polished aluminun. I love my red AEM. Probably just as good quality if not better though, you're right.

If I were you, I'd keep my eye on the Black Market here. They are always for sale in there.

My AEM CAI make a loud "whooooosh" when I turn the engine off, and it hisses at idle. It is normal, and I love the sound.

I think mine was that clean 3 times in 2 and a half years. You should see the engine in my I35. It looks brand new with 62K miles on it.

If you get a loud whooooosh from your Icebox, then something may be wrong. I always had a low noise from mine, but never anything loud.

Yeah, something doesn't seem right there. I'd check all your connections. As far as I know the whoosh is mainly on the AEM or Injens because it's an open element air filter so you hear that last little bit of air being sucked in, but an Ice Box is a closed unit, you really shouldn't hear much, especially whistling.

I guess if you listen really carefully you are supposed to hear a slight more noise from the air flow, but it's not as loud as I assumed you meant. If it is a really high pitched whistle, I would venture to guess that you may have a leak. If it's a low pitch, then I would say it's normal.

I know I had a slight bit more noise than stock, but I could not hear it unless I popped the hood since I have Comptech exhausts as well.
