Q: For those with TOYO T1-S Proxes ...
... how many miles have you put on these tires and how have they continued to perform at higher miles??
The reason I ask is that I have had a set for about 11k miles. Although they still appear to have good thread on them, I just don't think they grip like they used to do when new.
I am wondering if I should replace them or if it's just my imagination about the decreased performance.
I would appreciate your feedback on this before I make a decision.
Thanks,
Pete

How cold has it been in PA? Have you been running them in the winter? Hi performance tires are usually terrible in cold weather. Usually 40F is about the tempterature where I wouldn't bother running a high performance tire. So if it's been cold, you will definitely see a drop in grip in those Toyos. I'd expect to get anywhere from 20k-30k miles out of those depending on your driving .
I had just about 25K miles on my 235/45/17's on stock rims. I still had some tread for a few thousand more miles. Rotating every 5K miles helps. I saw a little decrease in wet grip as I got about 20K miles on mine. But dry grip was the same. Turn in was a little off as well. I have the FZ4's on my 18's now, & they scream, & break loose very easily. Not as much grip as the T1's. I might not keep them.

Thanks for the responses. As I said, I have about 11K miles on the tires and my driving is not TOOOOO "crazy."
The winter here has been bad!! But I had taken the wheels/Toyos off before December ... put the stocks back on. Now I am looking forward to getting the chromes back on the car for the summer. I am also considering the sways/springs thing for this year's up-grade.
But anyway, I need to have two of the tires taken off the rims so I can have some minor repair done to the chromes. I think at that time I will have my tire supplier take a really close look at the tires and give me a first-hand opinion.
I'd like to get at least this coming 'driving season' out of the tires and worry about replacing them next spring.

What's up?! I have been many places in the last few months. Including job hunting (success close to home, BTW) and vacationing in Brazil (you MUST go there someday). I'll try giving you a call to 'catch up.' Thanks for the welcome back. Later,
Pete

Well, i just had to replace my fronts with a little over 15K because they wore down close to the chords. I thought i was rotating enough at service intervals, but obviously not !! I have kept the pressures up between 36-38 so that probably hasn't helped not to mention aggressive twisties with the Konis dialed down. Rotating every 3K is probably the answer, and softening up the Konis when not on twisties may help also.
