UR does have a crank Pulley for the CLS ...AEM does not.
I just installed the UR Ultra Yesterday morning. The CL-S feels faster and Rev to the red-line faster... But no hard numbers yet..till I hit the track sometime in the Fall...

The AEM are pretty useless look nice in the engine bay...but useless more or less...the Unorthodox is supposed to be very helpful, but you take your chances.

I have the UR pulleys. I like them, and can feel a difference in power. The engine revs much faster now. I would have go the AEM, but they basically do nothing, so i Opted to go for the UR.

Damaging to teh engine? Why would it be damaging? Is it due to the harmonic stabilizers/balancers that are found in the stock pulleys that are not found in the UR pulleys that could cause dammage?

Ok I found that the problem is because the UR pulleys are for racing purposes only and that they are 'not' balanced . Why would anyone make pulleys and not have them ballanced?
Anyway supposibly there are two different sets for our car the UR racing pulleys and the SS series. I heard that the SS series are balanced. But what I need to know is which on eis better for performance teh UR racing series or the SS series. And if the UR racing series is better for HP gains but the pulleys are not balanced then all that I would need to do is get the pulleys ballanced? If so where whould I have that done?
Tnx

There is absolutely no hard data showing that the UR pullies damage an engine. There have been several posts about this and UR has addressed all of the concerns people have. There were, if I remember correctly, 2 claims and both of them were untimately proven that the UR pullies did not cause the engine damage--it was user error both times.
UR makes a great product. We have used them for years and have not had any problems whatsoever.
--sorry if this came off as a 'rant'
Thanks

Both are balanced, but they lack the Torsional Vibration damper.

Exactly that was the problem that I faced in the past. That was the reason why I never went with the AEM pulleys before. Because there there is no dampener that causes the pulley to damage what it rides on.
But is there anything that I or someone can do to prevent vibration in the pulley. I know that a balanced pulley still isn't enough. So then would I have to have a underdrive pulley set that 'has' a dampener installed in order for vibration not to occur?
Tnx

Frankkly, I do not feet any added vibrations after I installed the UR pulleys... On the other hand, it feels smoother.... But the engine may "feel" those bad vibrations.
UR is making Underdrive Pulleys for the domestic V8 and Hi-HP imports (600HP+) with TVDs. UR claims that import V6 engines with 200-300 HP does not need TVDs...
