Prototype Headers -- Better then Comptech

Prototype Headers -- Better then Comptech
They claim these are better then comptech. Check out this web site. The dyno chart is in there also. It was an accord v6 that it was used in the dyno. But here is the link for the CL TL headers. Then search there site a little to see dyno chart and other stuff. It looks pretty wicked. Check it out.

ok
in my opinion i think you would see less gains on a non turbo/non supercharged tl and cl with these headers. but i think with a boosted car you would see better gains with these headers than comptechs headers

you know what?
^i can't belive this shit^ rathaer have quality versus quantity when we are probably talking about a quantity of like 5 more HP and those things might not last as long as comptechs...and if they were amazing, there would 19283928x more talk bout them on here...
and of coure comptechs are king, why do you think they turn gold?

my point is that comptech is a reputable company... but it DOESN'T mean they develop the best of the best. everyone is just a BRANDwagon-er.... ct is known to develop great products.. doesn't mean that theirs is the absolute best...

but they turn gold, are you blind?!
look people flock to good things when it comes to cars. why are there 350z's and STI's on every corner, well somone heard they were kinda fast. call it bandwagon, but we all heard comptech was pretty damn good. thats my point!! how come no one has heard fo these/ ever put them on?
you cant call it bandwagon cuz there are plenty of xs power headers and w/e else around too [i forget the brand names], but 0 of these!

Assuming these are built well, I would believe that they would give better gains than comptech. Equal length headers typically do provide more gains than unequal length.
Whether they are available for sale or not and if so, are they worth what they cost, that's a different story.

^^ I dont think we can get them for the 6 speeders...
I do believe that there would be a lttle more gains, but with a FI setup would be much more gains like someone previously said.
Anyone can email the maker, his email is on the site. I wanna see the gains on our car.
These are dyno graphs from an Accord V6 with the comptech and the protoypes headers compared. If this is true, then our cars would see way more gains. I pulled 248whp and 218tq when I pulled a dyno run with my Neo un-installed. Im curious now about these. But no 6 speed setup.

good luck, cuz thats the problem lol! i dont understand why NO ONE HAS THEM if they are soooooooo amazing! if they are new to the market, then okay, but i think someone said before that they heard of them 5 years ago, so going off of that, i keep bickering...

im a very loyal person
o yeah...comptech turns gold! these seem to be, oh lets just say for the sake of argument...silver in color!! ...thats second place no matter how you look at it, whether in theory like we all seem to be involved in here...or in fact. fact is they dont seem to actually exist to me.
real life examples? anyone, please!

Guys, these are old and have been discussed for awhile. The company never really had the funding to take off. I also think that these were going to be priced above CT headers. i would just delete this thread out of your memory and just stick with the normal headers available. I guess these could be constude as the "mystery" headers.

From my experience on other cars, there are no shenanigans with the dyno. Usually equal length headers will help produce more hp and torque down in the low RPM range but lose some on the top end, as this dyno shows. The Prototype headers themselves are a dead issue though. They have never been mass produced and sold. I remember seeing those about 3 years ago I think.

the "president" of the company has admitted that they couldnt get them mass produced and that this design has been in theory since 1999 which would explain why everyone is saying this is 5 years old... I thnk we may see more this time around if this guy is talkin out his ass and i quote,
"Please be good enough to accept my apology for not updating the website with the latest in the saga of the headers for the Acura CL (2001-2002) and TL (1999-2002) and Type S. I designed them in early '99, right after I did the HKS Turbo Accord, but one thing after another kept them out of production. I've finally found a solution to that problem, and his name is Edmun Laurea. We are in negotiations now on the sale of the header design, and all my production tooling. He has the capital resources to mass produce the headers, something I could never have done, so in the long run this will work out better for everyone who wants them. His target price is lower than I had anticipated, which should make more people happy as well. At this point, I'm pretty much out of the loop as far as decision making goes, so I suggest you contact him directly. E-mail: edmun@attbi.com."

that quote is very old as well. i remember asking about these when i first joined. when i sent edmun laurea an email, he sent a reply that the minmum that he could have sold them for was $1600 per set. in other words, those will most likely never be on the market.

But that thing looks crazy

Just to be brief, this would be your typical "race" header, or long tube header, where as we're stuck with the short tube design.
Your "race" headers for the 4 bangers, would be a 4-1 design (long tube). As opposed to the 4-2-1 design (short tube).
And in all cases that I've known of, the race headers have always put down better numbers, but have never been street legal.

I could only guess these were done on stock cars. Now with your basic mods, I'd like to put both headers to the test. Most race headers eleminate the cat, thus why they're not street legal. So these, I'd like to see tested on a car that is straight piped.
