Protecting new ballast

I recently replaced a fryed ballast with one from a junkyard. Ive read that its a good idea to seal it with silicon to prevent future failures. Where exactly do I seal it? Anyone got a pic of the spots?

I siliconed right where the wires come out of the unit.

I got 100% silicone sealant from home depot (like the kind used for windows) and put it down where the wires go into the ballast all the way to the top of the metal O they come up out of.

I used a razor blade make a semi flat surface tilted towards the outside as the thought is to direct the water away from the inside of the ballast.

Go look at any Acura HID ballast produced *after* ours and you will see a HUGE grommet that goes above that hole.
