Proof of Chris running 5.5 in his car

As witnessed by me on route 73 last saturday. When we pulled into the restaurant I had to take a pic.

It's not straight!!! That's how he did it j/k

That is some serious chit man. To get a 5.5 0-60 without headers, exhaust and major engine mods on stock tires/wheels is impressive to say the least. I can't wait to check his ride out on the 26th

Seeing numbers like that makes me want to go nuts and spend all kinds of money. The best G-tech run I have made was 6.3 seconds. Damn, Damn, Damn. No, I can control myself.

I want to see a CL-S with headers, exhaust, Comptech springs, the upcoming Comptech supercharger and with the manual transmission (which has been confirmed...Acura has not decided whether to use a 5-speed or 6-speed as of yet...hopefully the latter) and see what the performance is!

That's interesting -- 5.5 w/ only the Xephyr Intake --

Why does the website for Xephyr state that the increase in 0-60mph numbers are from the stock 6.7 seconds to the Xephyr modified 6.3 seconds? Were those runs using G-Tech also?

Also -- what was the same G-Tech system you're using stating your 0-60mph time to be STOCK? I'd be interested to see if it said 6.6 seconds, or 6.0 seconds. I just want to make sure that you are running on stock Michelins, w/ NO other modifications other than your intake?

Thanks

Steve/Tel1sps,

I didnt get a chance to go because the owner of the place I get the powder coating done let his "employees" do the last batch and I wasnt pleased with the results in the finish, so I had to go ther and argue, bitch and moan for him to re-spray a dozen of them so I could get them out on time tonight... And now I cant go tonight becuase I have to go and pick up material for another 30 (rush order for BMW), pick up the ones that were re-sprayed - box&ship... another fun and crazy Friday night........... But I'll try and take a video of my next track runs

The website shows the times obtained by my car 100% stock against All stock with exception of Xephyr CAI. They were measured using a GTECH-PRO. I also posted track slips running all stock with the exception of Xephyr CAI also which yielded an average 14.4-14.5 on stock rubber.

The recent 5.5's were obtained using the same GTECH PRO unit on the same vehicle with some "stuff" done. It is still running on some balding stock michelins, NO N2O (NOS) , NO Headers, NO Exhaust, NO supercharger, NO Turbo, NO Pulleys,)

Hope that helped clear it up

Chris

Chris --

When will you reveal these other mods? I want to do them also -- $200.00 is a much better price to start modifying my TL-S than the $1100.00 for the headers. Also, do you think headers and exhaust would also help decrease those times, or would they actually work against your current, mysterious modifications?

Thanks for the info!

The headers will give you a nice improvement in higher RPM's ~5000-7000. That is where youll benefit from the VTEC and exhaust ratio through the headers versus the stock exhaust manifold. The exhaust looks great and sounds awesome, however it has yet to show any impact on 1/4's or 0-60's as we DO have a bit of a bastardized exhaust. Given the stock exhaust is very free-flowing, but the upgraded exhaust should be a dual cat-back approach coming off each of the headers down-pipe to two individual exhaust paths.. The current Comptech looks sweet and sounds great ... but could have been designed to really maximize the cars potential.. Again... theres the EPA restraints that would make this difficult to produce legally , along with CARB, etc etc etc.... For the most Bang for the buck go with intake ~$200-$280, Headers ~$1000 - $1200, and Sways for ~$300. If you like to reduce wheel gap look into some springs too... Thats the best I can suggest in terms of mods that you WILL feel the difference from immediately, wont void warranty, and are relatively light on your wallet opposed to other possibilities...

Chris, why do you have to be this way? Why not be straight up with us. I think I will keep the intake I have now. I knew there had to be something going on with a 14.4 1/4mile with a trap of 97mph. Sorry but this has been making me wonder for a couple days now.

REREAD my POST. The times posted of the car at the track were done before anything else had been done... that is fact that can be backed up. The recent times are after some tweaking. I will publish more information once it is appropriate. Honestly, I would love your business and have you convert to a Xephyr CAI, but I do not need you or anyonne else second guessing me on every decision I make. Once I deem it is financially prudent, and that there is enough market to release a given product I will do so, until then it will stay at bay.
Ill offer this as a FINAL option for any the other skeptic of the times run with ONLY a Xephyr CAI on my car. I will revert EVRYTHING to stock, leaving only the CAI to the Park Ave Acura Meet I'm sure Jens or Wayne or anyone else can verify that the car is not modified in any way other then CAI and we'll take a drive to Englishtown afterwards or Atco. I am honestly irritated with the barrage of naysayers and the like... honestly. If you do not trust or beleive my company or my products then I will feel no ill regard to choose another vendor. I have more then proven myself by the level of commitment I have given from free installs to phone calls helping installs, to meeting up with members on my time and dime. Consequently, you had little negativity until after you spent ~$1500 dollars on mods and ran slower times then me on the track. There are infinite explanations from temperature and humidity ... to weight and driver skill.. Maybe I shifted out better, maybe I ran better gas... etc... Maybe its because it was in the 30s when I ran ??????? Cut me some slack man, I dont antagonize you or your times nor do I lay claim to anything other then documented facts.. I have said this before and I'll repeat it again. When my competition begins performing custom installations, posting track slips, genuine dyno's, taking calls at all hours, and driving +/- 100 miles to back their products I wont be too worried about my numbers..... Give it a rest... I dont post new mods becuase enthusiasts are not the only people reading this forum .... the members that I talk to on regular basis and I know are interested in my success do KNOW what is already been developed, what is on its way and what is being researched, and most importantly what I pack under the hood at any given time.

Chris

I can appreciate that response. Why not let me get a CAI of yours and see if it improves my times? That is my main concern here is if you boasting your times because of your product. I have said this before and I will say it again, I want to take the Xephyer Pepsi challenge. If I can produce better times with your product I will not only endorse it but I will buy the product from you. What do ya think?

1. Chris -- you were driving downhill

2. Port, Polish, Head work city. ( I can come up with more sh$t too...)

3. Go find an arctic wildlife area and mow down some seals with a few runs. Be sure to have someone "steam" the track or street in the -20 weather....

Hmmm... "I'll be back..."

Mine's still better, but I was going downhill!

chris, if your gonna sell your secret mod, i think this is a sad form of advertisement, and getting high sale orders when you release it...

this board is a forum where people trade their opinions, advice, and experiences. Its cool that you started selling the CAI, but trying to use marketing, and tricky advertisment, with a little physcological mind games to get a boost of sales when you start selling whatever you are planning to sell, is to me wrong..as well as taken as an insult.

Again, i am not against your method of advertising, i just think your doing it in the wrong place.

I can understand where you are coming from but this is an issue that a few people here keep pressing me on when I post a kill or a story. They then want to know how or why and I usually reply that I have had some work done. But, then the same individuals start taking pot shots at my credibility or ethics in posting track times. If you look at what I posted when I introduced the CAI, I posted Timeslips, Dyno, price and photo's. Little in opinoion or personal taste commens. I may drop a hint a to what may be in development now and again, but I am far from taunting and even further from trying to advertise products that arent out for sale.

Just as a side note. Do you think the intake is the cause of your times? Do you think it performes better then the AEM even though the dyno shows the AEM cranks out more horses? Just would like to clear that up for the record.
