projected WHP of 6MT and 1/4 times...

well...i've been giving this some thought and if you think a manual tranny is more efficient than an auto(i do) than let s do some speculating...lets use a concervitive 18% loss
260-18% = 213 whp
232-18%=190 lb.ft.
now lets take it a step furthure...an open differential transfers power to the wheel with the least grip...that's right least...meaning least torque...add LSD no you're not trippin' ...limited slip differential...we now have torque to the wheel with the most grip...the most torque
232-13%=201...this ofcourse is an estimate I'd love to hear some feed back from the likes of scalbert or ErikL....can this same principal be applied to Hp ???does the limited slip allow more Hp to make it to the wheels as well as torque????...if so using 13%
260-13% =226whp...:wow:
add headers 38 crank power=259 whp
add RES =269whp and 219 lb.ft
MMII=282 whp and 232 lb.ft
i may be dreaming...i may be drunk...(no, im defintely drunk)
but i tried to be alittle concervitive on the hp figure and i know not all Hp adders are cumlitive(sp?) but put these figures in a 1/4 mile calculator and you got mid 13's for sure ...ofcourse you'll need a serious set of tires toyo T1-S 235/45 is probablly enough concidering the lsd

If your talking about a dyno run, and the operator has the car setup right (tires are making constant contact with the rollers), the LSD should not be involved in improving the measured wheel HP/torque. When you are talking about "on the real street", that is very different. The VSA just kills the power and clamps a brake disk. Dissipating energy into heat or retarding timing is not the best way to get max power to the pavement!

I don't know about the 13s... IMO, if you talking about "a cherry-picked car" and all of the info about the hollow shafts, etc are true (about the 6-speed), then it could get down into the 13s on a very cold day with a set of good tires and light weight wheels (CAI + headers too).

The HP is related to the torque, so any there would be an exact correlation between the measured amounts.

If you want a good guess, check the NSX forum and check for the losses in the NSX manual gearbox; it should provide a "guideline"/"baseline" for the CLS gearbox.

I have heard good things about the Acura M6. I would think losses would be in the12-15% range...but I am not so familliar with FWD cars and their drive train losses

not dream on the comptech headers have proven dynos of 25-30 whp ...wheel horse power...if you use the stock dyno loss of our car s auto at 23% than that means the headers acctually add 38 crank power resulting in 30 whp

ErikL...the 13's i was speaking of was with H/I/RES/MMII...and sticky tires

I love all these wishful-thinking estimates and pipe dreams involving RES and MMII even though there's no evidence they'll ever materialize, or produce any noticeable gains when they do.
