Project; Blacking and Clearing headlights

Just started doing it. I have the bumper off and the lights out. The hardest part is taking off all the damn acura sealant. Its really tuff to get off. It is kinda like hard chewing gum. anyway, I have disassembled the light housings and have painted them. I will now seal them back up with GE II sealant and put the everything back on the car by tomorrow. Here are some pics:

Its going to be a personal preference. I like clearing only with TW, the all chrome matches perfect.

it wasnt all that "hard" but that silicone is soooooooooooooooo annoying, i went all out and tried to take as much as i could off. I wanted to smash everything because it was NOT coming off

There is NO point in removing the sealant. You guys should have done your research and known that all you have to do is pop the lights in the oven for a bit when you are ready to seal them back up, and the sealant becomes gooey and you can press them right back together.

p.s. I still need to get pics of my car up with the black headlights but they need to be wetsanded first. Also, I did use some additional silicone, but I just ran a bead around the light on top the existing bead when they were pressed back together.

Contrary to what you might think, the turn signal's ability is really not affected by painting that chrome black. I chose to go black on my NBP.

If you just prefer the chrome look to the black one, excuse my comment.

Nice! I am pretty sure I want to clear mine out in the future (before the summer ends) and it would be great if someone with more experience could help.
