Programing your homelink button

Just got a '03 CL Type S but the previous owner didn't leave the owner's manual with the car. I have one on order but does anyone know how to program the homelink button in meantime? I know it has to be fairly easy (hold button down for X seconds but I can't get it to work).

Thanks

You use the remote to the door and hold the button on that and the button in the car down at the same time.
