Problems with my V1, anyone have this?
I think my V1 is on the fritz. It seems every time there is a cop (radar) in front of me, my V1 is only reading it as on the sides, when i can clearly see the cop in front of me. It continues to read the sides untill it is very far behind, and then it will say its coming from behind for like a sec. Only for like a sec will i get something infront then it will go to the side directions. I dont konw what the problem could possibley be, ive had it installed for like a month and a half, and its only been doing this for like a week or so. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I just remembered something... They (Valentine 1) actually kept my unit a couple days longer because they couldn't reproduce the problem at first. What I would do, is include a letter describing the problem in detail... I did that, and I think that helped them greatly.

Same exact problem happened to mine about a year ago. I just sent it in and they fixed it quickly.
This appears to be a known issue and could happen to your V1 at anytime. For $400, I would be pissed if I had to do without my V1 for a week. Sad thing is mine starting acting up when I was on a roadtrip, the good news is it starting happening on the last 10 hours of the drive home.
If I were a V1 owner with a "good" radar detector, I would be pissed that mine could go out at any time. I mean you didn't pay $400 for a piece of junk that might go faulty at any time, particularly when they know this is happening; same symptoms, same problems. Why doesn't Mike just come out and admit his V1s have a problem and just replace them all,, maybe even issue a recall or something? Who cares about willingness to fix them if they ever finally act-up, I'm just not comfortable with knowing that one day it might go out again and one day they might not fix it. I have rights! Now I can even go on a roadtrip comfortably in my car without thinking my tranny errr I mean my V1 might crap out on me leaving me stranded on this planet someplace unable to get home quickly.

Sorry first post to be on a sad subject, the V-1 is a good product, but I haven't had that problem and I have had my V-1 for 2 years now... I have however been getting false laser trips everytime I get on the ass of a 2002+ GM SUV.... anyone else get this? probably the led taillights they use... just wondering what it really is???
