problems with gas pedal

It seems to get stucked while driving. Especially when you let go off the pedal and try to gas it again. In case all of you are wondering, I did warm up the car...

Is this related to the transmissoin problem? Please advise.

Thanks!
Samuel

Same problem here. Had the same problem on my old MR-2. Going to let the dealer take care of it at the 30,000 mile oil change next month. Hope I don't get a "wall job" like I keep getting with my VSA problem!

I've just started to have a problem with the pedal. Sometimes when you accelerate from a light or stop sign, it sticks. Not a good feeling. Will be visiting the dealer shortly.

Me too. Sticks once in awhile from a stop. I'd be curious what the dealer does for you.

A number of people have started to report sticky throttle issues...

I really doubt that it is transmission related...

I had the same problem about a month ago!!!

The pedal would get stuck when you fully remove your foot off of the pedal and want to accelerate again. You notice it most when you come to a stop and want to start again. It doesn't matter whether it is hot or cold outside or when you first turn on your car. It is due to a carbon build up in the throttle body. It seems a bit intermittent but when you take it into the dealer insist that they throughly test it out because it might not do it the first time but if they keep trying to reproduce the problem they will notice it. I told the service rep several times about the problem and after 1.5 hours he came up to me and told me that they were unable to find the problem. I got really pissed off and I told him that they better check it again because if I take the care back and I have the same problem again I will send him a bill for my time that he wasted. He told the mechanic to check it again and of course they noticed it the second time and kept the care for 2 days!!! I was really pissed about that too. But the good thing is when I got my car back it was fixed.

So to make a long story short it is due to carbon build up in the throttle body and they will need the car for a few hours so schedule a loaner car.

I happen to know someone with a similar problem... I just haven't had a time to "sync-up" with them...

That could very well cause the problem...

The throttle cables can get sticky as well...

(The fact that the techs are missing this stuff, well... there are good techs. and bad techs... )

I have the same problem with my Accord!

It didn't start until I went on a business trip over a year and half ago and my car sat at the airport for 4-5 days... when I got back, I literally had to stomp my peddle to get it to move.

Now it just lightly sticks occasionally which causes jack rabit starts from a dead stop when you apply extra pressure to the gas peddle and it finally gives.
