Problem With Paint Chipping On Bumper

I don't know whether it's because those shit-kicking big trucks on the highway are spewing stones and they're hitting my bumper or the paint just sucks. My car is white, so every time there's a chip in the paint you see black. I guess if you have a black car, it's not so noticible. I could get a bra cover, but I hate them. Taking them off and putting them back on all the time, it's a pain in the ass. It's a good thing I have that bottle of touch up paint, but at some point, the bumper will look shitty. Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

I get them all the time, regardless of what type of driving I'm doing. The paint just sucks on these cars... And I hate the fact that I'm such a perfectionist, so I notice every stinkin scratch, gash, chip, etc...

I have at LEAST 80+ chips on my car! The paint didn't bond to the primer properly... And my chips are all around my car. Name a panel. It has a chips in it.

YA IT #&*#@&*(&@(*) SUCKS!

One of the main reasons I can't wait to get rid of it. I like washing my car, and I get upset when I see all of the chips.

Can we complain and have Acura fix it?

The ammount of chips on my car is not normal for 30k miles. It looks like 100k+. And I don't drive on the highway regularly.

My Mercury cougar! and my Jeep grand cherokee had better paint that this fu&*ing thing.

It's called water-based paint. Protects the environment, but chips easily..

I was looking at Ken Steele's paint. He has 2x the milage, and no where near as many chips. He had hardly any compared to my car.

I have a bad paint job.

Granted I agree the paint is cheezy. But there's a difference between bad quality paint. And paint that didn't bond correctly.

Maybe it depends on the color. Some may be better than others. Every time I drive it I get chips. I just want to leave it in the garage and take my truck. It's a pain in the ass to keep using the touch up paint.

Got news for ya - I have a black '98 CL and when the paint chips off the bumper, all you see is the grayish-white primer coat on the bumper. I guess it's not really primer so much as primer-like. Primer would imply some sort of adhesion to the top coat of paint.

For the last 3 years, I've driven 100 highway miles every day to work. My bumper is more gray than black.
