I have a 01 CL type S 65k (2nd tranny) I was driving last night all the sudden check engine comes on and the car feels like it is running on 4cyls. Almost like a go-cart , it is idling really rough. then chk engine starts flashing and vsa comes on and the exclamation point is lit. Anyone?

Flashing CEL is always misfires. Get it checked out soon , Probably a bad coil. These cars can have 1 bad coil that will cause 3 cylinders to miss.... not sure why but i've seen it on every v6 honda that has come to my shop with a blown coil it will have 3 DTC's set.

 

Ok thanks.. I do not think it is the tranny cause when the veh is in park and i rev it up it does it... how much will it cost to replace the coil?

 

Id bring it to a autozone or a auto parts store that does free code reading and get a code. If its is a coil you could do it yourself for 50 bucks or so

 

Shouldn't cost too much if it's only 1 coil that is bad, from my expieriance as a Honda tech, usually it's just one, for a factory coil around $100 to do it yourself.
