price for painting M5 spoiler?
hi guys, I am ordering a M5 spoiler from www.c-c-c.com. The spoiler is only primed but not painted, so I need to bring it to a bodyshop and get it painted. Can you guys give me some feedback on the price for this sort of painting job? Thanks.

I shopped around and paid ~$120 for an excellent job. The range was like $50-$150, but I got the impression that the people that charged >$100 cared about the final result, the dudes that wanted $50 were more like some yahoos with a paint sprayer. YMMV.

Yeah, I called to get a quote and they said $50. When I got their, the shop said "that little thing?" They had it done in 2 days and only charged me $25. The spoiler has been through Chicago's salty winter and still looks like it did when I first got it.

i wouldn't pay more than $75 if I were you...where I am, paint rates are $40/hr for labor and $26/hr for materials....i write estimates for a living and would say that no one should really charge more than 1.0 hour, which equals $66 and some tax. Unless your color is White diamond pearl (3-stage paint), then it should probably run a little more than that to include ample time to mix the paint. bodyshops range greatly in quality of the job and the materials used, so the lower the price could mean the lower the quality....good luck....let us know how much you end up spending and how it comes out...
