My favorite part:

During one of our later acceleration runs, the test car's exhaust system fell apart (check out the Photo Gallery) — ostensibly because one of the bolts holding the exhaust pipe's retaining clamp in place was merely "finger-tight." Using a wrench set and the Jaguar's tire jack, our road test coordinator proceeded to reassemble the car's exhaust system. Not a difficult fix, but as our senior editor wrote, "How many Jaguar buyers would know what to do if the majority of the exhaust system began clinking and clanking along on the pavement after an aggressive launch from a stoplight?"

******************************

And you guys complain that the exhaust is uneven on the CL.
At least our pipes don't FALL OFF !!!!

Wow!

If they keep making the X like that, it will seriously hurt the reputation that they have...

...of being a maker of overpriced, luxurious, but unreliable cars.

Oh, wait a sec...

haha i know, i actually test drove the x type, i couldnt stop myself from cracking up when i floored the car and the car didnt go. The salesman was like, well this is a luxary car, its not really meant for speed. Then he started talking about the luxary interior, but it wasnt going well since stuff was rattleing. Needless to say, i took the 1st U turn I saw and ended the test drive.

The Real Story w/ Jaguar

I've always said to drive a Jaguar, you must own two because
one will always be in the shot at any given time.

P.S. I just ran into Jonny Knoxville (jackass) walking around at
Hollywood and Highland. Wooo!

That is becasue purists know any Jag based on a Ford will ultimitely be awful to purist standards.

A jag based on a Ford Mondeo(remember Countour), why that is awful and a blow to Jag heritage and owners of Xk's etc.

The only true jags are Xk8 and Xj series.....

The Contour was a European car Ford brought to America that wasn't right for the market. It was an OK car, but it had a lot of problems. I had a 1997 model (5MT) and at last count there were 10 letters at my parents' house concerning recalls, for major items like brakes, ignition switches and heater blowers that could catch fire. Mine is still running, but my sister's died earlier this year with 85K miles on it. The tranny blew.

There were also a lot of fit and finish, and NVH issues too. It had so many rattles a baby would have been in heaven. Not to mention I was a magnet for car accidents in that thing....

And, now that it's own by Ford, you'd probably need to own THREE just in case!!

Edmunds might have been a little harsh, but the new Jags are deffinitly ugly and over priced. Id take a TL-S over that anyday.

Ford is succesfully killing every brand.

Can't wait for Ford's defensive reply in next month's "Letters to the Editors"!
