I have been driving without the whole PS system in my Accord for years... it DOES make a noticable difference in power BUT I would NOT do this on a CL... too heavy, it would be really hard to turn. On the Accord, not problem... althought parallel parking isn't very fun

Oh it sure does stiffen up the steering! I really like the feel of the steering if the car is moving. It feels like a little go-kart, but again the CL weighs 500 lbs. (about 20%) more and if the steering was 20% stiffer I don't think I could handle it. Also at higher cornering loads you really gotta hold on with both hands... it takes a little more effort to turn the wheel... you will see. Go for it, it is fun!
