Sure, you might have been able to find some sucker to pay $7k for it, but who knows how long you would have had to sit on it for that person to finally buy it. The $5k satisfied your loan, right?

lol, reese, thats funny..yeah, you probably will get me right now, but we will trap the same speed...lol
I may go up there thursday for a couple of runs...dunno, a few already wanna see if i can run better than my old cls...
Too bad i never went one last time with the new tires and intake before i traded it, it def felt faster...like 13.9 fast...lol
im thinking ill get a 15.2 in the slobalt right now..hopefully with major mods i can run a 14...bwaahhahaha...j/k
i probably will only run like a 14 @ 103 with the flippin heat and humidity as bad as it is...
if not this thursday, then i will def be there soon

THIS IS TRUE...LOL
Well, I wasnt able to go to the track this thursday because it was rained out again. this is the second one in a row that has been rained out...
i was gonna mess around with the no lift shift feature i have now and see if its worth using...
this car needs a tune bad, it pulls pretty good in 2nd and 3rd but dies hard around 5800rpm. i miss shifting quickly and higher in the ole cls...but the weight difference and handling is somewhat better in this car, so a plus there...with good tires, GMS1 upgrade, and exhaust or intake mods should get me 12.9-13.4, pending weather and driving, so im looking forward to that...ill put up some stock times when it stops downpouring everyday...

Didnt you run a 14.0 in the CL
#99
wait so you bought a cl, and sold it right away to buy a chevy cobalt? I dont understand how people judge a car on 1/4 mile solely especially fwd cars. There is alot more to a car than how fast it goes in a straight line.

Absolutely right.
2. 8 minute 22 second Nurburgring lap time is fastest for a FWD car
In terms to "performance" it is superior to the CL. Aaron did do the right thing if this was his only concern. Now in terms to amenities/luxuries, that may be a different story, but comparing the CL-Cobalt in performance terms, the Cobalt is superior.

Car is running wonderful and has 37k miles now, and no problems yet. has been lowered, down-pipe and muffler delete. car runs great.
waiting to HP tune it at 24psi, which would put me at 340whp and 380wtq!!!...wooohoo..lol

yeaaaah, he finally got banned huh?
I haven't been to the track again.
My first runs in it were slower than they should have been. its a whole new driving style from what the acura was. From a roll, i have taken down some serious rides already though. can't wait to be tuned so i can really show off.
I should be running 13.8 stock, and about the same right now. with the tune, sticky tires, and another new driving style, mid 12's all day.

Funny story-
Back in October I went up to NY and was meeting up with some members on here (StreetKA and JBlue) to do a few passes at Englishtown. As soon as I get 20 minutes from JBlues place it starts raining and they close the track for the night. It only rained for 20 minutes or so.
We grabbed a bite to eat then hit the highway for a few runs. We line up around 30-40mph. On three honks we go. I have very little power and the car was shaking uncontrollably. It almost felt like a wheel was out of balance. We pull over and see that I broke the axles. I limped it back to my mothers house in NY and manage to swap one of the two axles. The strut fork bolt was seized in the LCA bushing on the driver side, without air tools and replacement parts I couldnt cut it out. So I limped it back to VA on one axle. I had Paul cut the strut fork off and rig up a temporary bushing, we swap the axle in and thats when we realize that I also tore up the differential bearings. So - instead of rebuild it and run the risk of it failing again, I ended up replacing the tranny
I have yet to go to the track since then.

Mine has been running since the end of October. I was driving it with the busted transmission, just being very easy on the throttle.
By the end of this month I should be above the 300whp mark, and well into the mid-3s

with the conservative timing, about 320whp and 380wtq. it was too harsh on the stock clutch any higher than that but very fun...lol
i will have an actual dyno next monday to know my exact numbers.
plus im going to the track this thursday to try it out.
14.0 @ 102 was my best time/trap stock with a 2.15 60ft.
The weather is supposed to be 65* and 85% humidity on thursday night.
