Possible Vapor Lock?

Hey guys,

The last two days when I was leaving work, my CL wouldn't start at all. I tried cranking it 3-5 different times and it wouldn't run at all.

So I took off my gas cap to release the pressure and opened the hood. After about 4-5 minutes of waiting it would start right up, but no sooner. No check engine lights came on.

It has been about 93 degrees both days, and I park on a blacktop parking lot, so it's obviously very hot.

I suspect vapor lock. What do you guys think? I filled up with 93 octane after the first occurrence.

Any suggestions on a way to fix it? I did a few searches on here and found a few recommendations for IsoHeat Dry, but I've never heard of this stuff until now.

My car is a 2001 CL with 109,000 miles.

Thanks a lot

I would bet the bank its your PGM-FI Main Relay Circuit. Its under the steering column. Cheap and easy to fix. Very common problem with your exact symptoms. Do a search on it and you will get lots of threads. Its right next to the little switch that makes contact with the brake pedal to turn off the brake lights when you are not depressing the brake peddle It’s a little box about 1 x2 inches with seven wires coming in from the bottom.
