Possible solution to our fog/driving lamp issue??

OK this is a shot in the dark here, but I was reading around & this might require some serious conversion (worth it or not?? Not sure).

Apparently this is an HID kit for divers (10 watt & 18 watt version); http://www.extreme-exposure.com/. Now I wonder if we can modify this is some way to work (replace our current bulb, and probably will require a rewire) in our driving lamps. It appears that the system uses a NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) power system.

So I have a couple of questions, and since i'm not a EE I don't have answers easily.

1) Can (and how difficult) would it be to convert the system to or 12V car system.

2) What would be required?

I ask these questions because it appears that my PIAA's (or your Polarg's) appear to pretty much have burnt a hole through the top of my fog lamp assembly (or getting pretty close to it) so a solution quickly would be welcome , or at least thoughts of a solution.

Damn...

Scratch that...

I guess I didn't read enough into it before getting a little excited. Anyways anyone know of any place in Houston that will do custom lighting, of modifications? I don't have much to lose since the lamp assembly is pretty much toast as it is.

You got any recommendations Mike? Do you know anyone whom might be willing to make the conversion? If I can't go HID, i'd like to go halogen. Anyone know who did the SEMA CL-s?

I think they had real fogs..

I'm interested in doing a conversion using stock housing, at least part of it. I havent found a perfect fog to do so though.

Raybrig 200 Series? They are HID's except they cost about $900 (lowest i've seen), but they are shweet!

they are rectanglar, closest thing i've found to match the stock opening and be bright as hell, 125 watts of output!

maybe inserting the fog in the stock housing? i've heard of people doing this before.

You could always use Hella's Micro DE HID fogs...but those are like $700 or so for them.
