We all r waiting for that dyno.. SO he is going to dyno the car with the stock type-S manifold w/o pr2pleniums and put the 3.7 IM on a dyno it after ..correct?
This should be VERY interesting..
I really cant wait and see what the new IM does!

I got the baseline yesturday. I only made 232whp/202wtq My torque curve was FLAT, from 3k to redline it stayed right at 200.
This was on a DynoJet. It was 80* with 30% humidity, and those are SAE numbers. I have XS headers, stock exhaust, CT Icebox, P2R throttle body spacer, coolant bypass, underdrive pulley and tb thermo-gaskets. My AFRs held a steady 12-13 at WOT. The machine was getting some RPM interference around 6500rpms. Do those numbers seem right for someone with these mods? I think I may have an exhaust leak. Im going to take a look at that this weekend. I was hoping to break 240whp. My car feels just as fast as my brother 08 Accord 6MT, which puts down 240-250whp.
Im installing the manifold tonight. I get home around 6 or 7, so Im going to let the car cool down for a bit while I eat dinner. Ill take plenty of pics and start working on the DIY. Im not going to post it though until monday when I do the after runs. Those are scheduled for 430p eastern

Yea, I was a bit unimpressed. I was definately lacking some torque. I really do think I have an exhaust leak. I may go next week sometime and get a new flex pipe welded in. Id love to do a new b pipe included the new 2.5" cat, but I dont feel like spending the money right now (on that).
Ill post the graph later. The shop still hasnt emailed me the graphs, so I may just scan them.
Also, the barometric pressure was right around 30.1.

Ill let you know
Thats what Im planning on doing. I may still get a higher quality flex pipe welded in just because the one XS uses is shit.

So how whats to put down some bets on the numbers he will pull with the 09 IM in??
My guess is HP from 232 -245 = 13 hp gain after 09 IM
and as for TQ from 202 - 210 = 8 tq gain after 09 IM
who else whats to take a stab at it?

Hahaha, you guys are hilarious. I got it installed last night. All the hardware was installed in less then 45 minutes, then I took my time with the wiring and vacuum lines.
I had a bit of a surprise when I took off the manifold top plate. Aside from my EGR being crustier then a 90yr old nuns p*ssy, a had puddles of oil in the manifold. Im not all that familiar with the J series, but Im pretty sure thats not supposed to happen.
I took some pictures, but towards the end it got late and the bugs were hovering around my spotlights making it difficult to work. So I just finished up the install. I got pics of the hardware install and most of the vacuum lines though, so I just need to go back and snap a few more of vacuum line routing and things like that. I also need to decide what I want to do with the IAB wiring. Id love to find a TL connector, but that chance is slim.

I forgot the most important part; driving impressions
Ive put about 150miles on it so far. The car definately has more balls. I did a pull last night in 4th from 60 to 120, and it had more in it. Before the swap the car seemed to run out of steam around 115.
Merging onto the highway in 3rd is a whole new game now too It will pull from a 30 roll to 80 without a problem. The throttle is a bit more responsive. I dont know if that is because of the manifold or the new throttle body. I measured the ported throttle body last night. The inlet is just shy of 71mm, and the outlet is 68mm. I swapped the TPS and map sensors as well as the coolant thing on the bottom (cant remember what sensor that is) I got the TPS dialed in and started the car up. It was idling at about 1800rpms, but I did the idle learn procedure and it idled fine after that.
The ECU is still learning the new parameters. On the drive to work today that car was very touchy at first, but when I got off the highway it was perfectly normal.
E30, Ive got one more question: Where did you route the FPR vacuum line? The new manifold doesnt have a location for it, and I have only one vacuum port left to use on it. I have the PCV going into the catch can, and then the catch can into the top vacuum port near the TB. The other two vacuum lines on the rear plenum went into the same spot on the new manifold. Other then that, the swap was very straight foward.
Im still trying to decide how I want to permanently connect the IAB wiring. Right now I just have two wires with male and female quick disconnects connecting the plug with the actuator. I dont really like that idea. Sometimes I wonder if the IABs are even working. Sometimes the car pulls like crazy, then other times it feels like its gasping for air.
Im not making any estimates of how much power this added. Im starting to think I am having some deeper issues with my motor then I am aware of, as evidenced by my baseline numbers being down and the oil in the intake manifold.

Ok. Ill pick up a hose barb for that and get that installed this weekend. The car wasnt acting funny at all with that line disconnected though.
Did your old intake have any oil in it when you pulled it?

I fully cleaned mine about a year ago when I did the spacer/thermal gaskets. It was alot worse than this.
I have about 1200 miles on the lipton bottle and it has less than a thimble of oil. I won a Greddy on eBay last night from a seller with two sales transactions one says they never got the item the other says they were slow. I emailed them before I bid and asked if there would be shipping drama & they said within three days, we'll see.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention I have confirmed I have an exhaust leak. Sucky part is I cant get it taken care of until after the dyno, so my numbers will be down
Im making do with that air compressor filter for right now. Ill check it when I get home.
